This tiller is another example of a company that takes pride in there products. Out of the box and put together in 20 minutes. Easy to follow instructions. Tilled a 30 X 40 area in less than an hour. That was tilling constant without stopping. When you first start it appears the tiller is not going to cut very well, but when you pull it back toward you it really digs in and tares up the ground. Walmarts price is very low compared to other retailers. For such a small and electric tiller it does a awesome job. I have a large gas troybuilt and probably wont even take it out of the shed this year.
I was pleased with this product. It was easy to assemble and the directions were clear. I was able to rototill my small sized yard for grass seeding. It did the job at a low cost. I will say it was a little bit heavy and powerful for me but I was able to do the job in a couple of days.
tilled clay ground with roots. It did a great job. just as good as my old gas tiller. Was hesitant to buy being electric and deal with cord. Still, I learned to deal with the cord (just like you do with a vacuum). Also bought two year warranty just in case. If this lasts, no more gas for me! The safety switch is a little cumbersome. Some reviews stated that that theirs did not start out of the box. Must press down safety switch and pull start trigger at same time. Great tiller for around $100
Perfect for small home gardens or small jobs. I dug 2-ft deep holes to plant fruit trees by lifting & locking the wheels out of the way. A very nice feature. I can till around tight corners or in between plants & bushes because of the smaller size. No gas or oil to mess with & no loud noise. stores in a small shed & light weight. I love it.
Did a great job so far, after only using it once . Tilled a 40 x 40 foot garden that only half of which was tilled last year . No overheating, great thermal protection when the roots would bind it. If there were any wish list changes I wish it could have reversed to loosen the roots. I believe it has a 2 year warranty to boot.
I really like this little tiller. I put it together in 20 minutes with just a screwdriver. If I had two, I could do the second one in 5 minutes. I tilled my whole garden then mowed the leaves, threw them in the garden and tilled them in also. Its so much easier than the shovel I have been using for years. It is simple and gets the job done without the added weight and expense of multiple speeds and reverse that just aren't needed with a tiller so light weight and easy to operate and control. As an added bonus it found and launched two feet more potatoes that I had missed with a shovel. Best of all, when I'm done, it hangs up on the wall instead of taking up valuable realestate on the garage floor.
I used this unit to prepare my vegetable garden for planting this spring; the area is about 25 by 12 feet, and has been used as a garden for the past three years. The tiller has more than enough power to break down the soil to a good depth, around 8 inches, and plow last year's leavings back into the soil as well. Assembly and operation were simple and intuitive. I will note one thing about operation: when breaking up soil for the first time since the previous fall, the unit is so light that it tends to bounce a little bit due to the powerful rotation of the tines, which requires some arm, wrist and hand strength to control. Also, I don't think I would recommend this unit for breaking up sod for the first time in starting a garden. A stronger, heavier tiller, or else manual spading of the turf, would be required for this task.
Sure beats digging by hand. Took care of weeds and unwanted grass in as areas around my plants. Used it to dig trench for my irrigation lines. Took one hour to do the work of all day. I'm concerned about how long it will last but I feel I've already got my money's worth..
I bought this digger to till areas of the yard that have become compressed and filled with a patchwork of roots, areas that are a nightmare to dig by hand. This machine made very short work of them (too bad it doesn't rake and sift the earth as well...). Its a very nice size; its small enough to work a suburban flower bed but its power and tough construction would easily handle larger vegetable patches. Its about the right weight -- light enough to maneuver around shrubs, irrigation and the like but heavy enough to not jump around very much while its working. Overall a great buy. I only wish I'd got one years ago.
The price was great for any tiller, much less a mini work horse! I would put this little guy up against any gas powered tiller the same size. I'm 6'1" and it is comfortable to operate for a while without hurting ur back. Keep the wheels in the down position to have better control of it. If u want it to dig a little deeper, just lean it forward a bit. I let it till the dirt up in one spot, then kinda twist it side to side so not to leave a space where there are no tines in the middle. My yard is packed dirt with grass with long spread out rutes, and this tiller powers right through it. Used it twice for about 1 hour at a time and I can't be more satisfied with my purchase. Get one! Heck... Get two, and give one to your neighbor, because when he sees you powering through the job, he is gonna want one too. You can buy three of these for the price of a "good" gas powered tiller the same size!
