I'm not sure if this is a name brand TV, but the picture quality and contrast is excellent. When I bought this TV on black friday I was worried that it would break in just a few weeks because I did not recognize the brand. But after watching both HD channels and SD channels I am not worried. The picture is great and with 5ms response time is perfect for playing my video games at 1080i without picture quality being degraded. The sound is OK but I don't care because I hooked the TV to my CD player which has much better speakers. Doesn't have an HDMI input but that's O.K. Overall an excellent buy for only $200 versus $400 for the other TVs.

Purchased on Black Friday for $199.00. Easy to set up. I have cable and the picture is crystal clear in both normal and hdtv broadcasts. The only negative issue which I consider minimal, is with the audio quality. To alleviate this issue I just plugged in a pair of inexpensive computer speakers to the earphone jack output on the tv and the sound quality improved 100% .This tv is well worth the price.

I bought this on Friday after Thanksgiving when they were selling it from 5:00-11:00 AM only at an unbeatable price. Fact the deal was so good I bought 5 units at once...one for me and the rest for Christmas presents . Digital tuner is very good and the picture quality is snappy and brilliant with deep color and black levels which is very important for detail....OH and HD football wow. External speakers are recommended that have bass control because the internal speakers are the weakness. Overall a great bedroom TV for viewing HD in bed. Good product at a great price.

I bought this tv hoping for "good enough" HDTV. And it is, on analog channels...as for HD...It is great ! My troubles are, the sound is a little tinny (expected for the price), the analog picture is always in a widescreen format which stretches the picture (a bit annoying, but workable) and color which was terrible on factory settings (messed with it and found good color). The base/stand is a little light for my taste (a couple of heavy decorative objects took care of that) I wish it had more picture controls ,but for under $250... not a bad little set for the bedroom or college dorm.

I got this on Black Friday for 198 and thought that it was a great price for having aHiDef capable receiver on digital channels and having an analog receiver. Digital is great with info including signal strength onscreen if desired. It's weakness is that there is no HDMI input, so true hi definition is limited to reception. A good deal at under 300 in my opinion and a great deal at under 200. It will get the PS2 endurance test after Christmas!

Disappointment

I bought the tv, and as soon as I got home I plugged it in and found out that there were two dead pixels on the screen. The tv also had a loose part inside. Ignoring all of that I still wanted to see if the tv had potential, but soon found out that the sound was horrible and that the picture was very unclear and distorted even after adjusting contrast, color and the other picture options. After all that I returned it the same day.

Not as good of a deal as it seems

We purchased this TV on black Friday for the low price of $198. Thought we were getting a good deal, at least as far as price goes. We set it up only to be disappointed in the picture and especially the sound quality. We have to turn the volume way up just to hear it. We will be returning this TV and getting another brand.

When I bought the TV for only $198 on black Friday I thought it was going to be a great deal. But when I brought it back home, the reception on regular cable channels were worse on this new TV than my TV from ten years ago!!! It does have HD which is nice on video games, but the HD is still limited because if you have bad reception on your cable channels, then your HD is blurry just like any normal TV. I have also had one or two pixels go out and I have had it less than a month. Its a cheap buy, but its not worth it in the long run.

Bad Picture

Was not very happy with the picutre quality. I have HD from the cable company and the HD channels look horrible. The picture was not sharp and everything was way too red. I played around with the settings and nothing would help the quality. The HD channels on this tv did not even compare with the same channel in non-hd on my Samsung DLP. The tv was for my fitness room, but I had to return it because it was so bad. When I got the TV I knew there was complaints with the sound, but I could not get over the picture quality to comap[lin about the sound. Save your money and try to get a better tv. Good luck if you get one of these.
