Great look.
I recently moved my mother in with me from FL. She is gracious enough to smoke outside, but I worried about her getting too cold here in Oklahoma. Along with a couple of new coats, I bought her this lamp....hoping it would take a little of the chill off. So far, so good! Granted, we haven't seen pipe-bustin' cold yet, but we have been below freezing a few mornings and she says it really does make a difference. She has even had to move a little bit away from it a few times because she was getting too toasty. I like the open design of the lamp because I think it might make it less likely to tip over due to the high winds we get here. We'll see!
The lamp had to be assembled and that took a little time. The lamp shade was the hardest part to put together! But once done, we plugged it in and instant heat! The base is heavy so it shouldn't tip over easily. I have mine on the patio. I love sitting outside but damp air or cool nights send me indoors. I used it tonight for the first time, how wonderful to be able to stay outdoors!
Advertisement Feature states a "9'" coverage. however it only covers the face and neck area but not the entire body. You must be directly underneath the shade to receive the heat of the lamp for the face and neck. I had to layer with blankets for the leg area. However attractive that it may be, it does not perform as specified. Also, activating the lamp shade is a challenge, to say the least! It is not easy to assemble nor dissemble the shade. Beware!
The lamp arrived with a damaged heating element. Several parts needed to complete assembly of the lamp were missing, as well. This review isn't about the lamp itself, but rather the lack of care taken when employees partially assembled the lamp and then repacked the carton. A major disappointment.
