works very well so far ,pulling 80+ pints a day in my basement,great product!
This dehumidifier is so small, it surprised me. It is quiet (on the low speed) and really does the job of dehumidifying the basement. It shuts off automatically when the humidity reaches the proper level. The reservoir seems small, but I have it piped outside, so it is not a problem for us. It is a good product, and I recommend it.
This is an excellent unit. It is very easy to set up and operate. It definitely pulls the water from our bedroom which can become humid ( because house is built on slab). Yes we have an efficient A/C - but we don't run it all the time. My wife complains that it is a bit noisy so its not "on" after 11 PM- but that's not a problem Since it is new I do not know about the electric usage- and hope that really is energy efficient. Also- with wheels- can be moved to safe place to empty - without spilling water- very good features!
Dehumidifier works well in the basement. Holds humidity at 55% running intermittently. Shuts off when reservior is full. Relatively quiet.
This product had all the features I wanted in a dehumidifier, including low temp operation (down to 41 degrees),automatic restart (in case of a power interruption), and automatic defrost. It has a filter warning light (for the air filter), an adjustable humidistat (with readout),and a timer for timed operation. The fan is a little loud at max volume, but it is adjustable. The air filter is right behind the front grill and easy to access, after removing the bucket (remember to press the reset button to reset the warning light). It weighs only 33 pounds and has a carrying handle. I mounted it over the basement sink for continuous draining so the weight isn't important to me, but it sure made it easy to carry from the store to my basement, and lift it to its mounting location. Within 3 days my basement humidity had dropped 10%. If you don't permanently mount the dehumidifier, you will be busy emptying the bucket. The connector on my drainage hose barely passed through the opening on the side of the case. If I had known how much fiddling would be required, I would have used a file to enlarge the opening. For those who use the bucket, it has a level indicator on the front. So far I am completely satisfied and would even give a sixth star, if I could.
I use it in my laundry room/ storage room so all the stuff that i store doesn't get ruined. its easy to use and i works great
I seem to buy a new dehumidifier every 2-4 years. That's about how long they last. I bought the 25 pint version of this about 3 years ago and found it was generally a good machine. It's fairly quiet and does not seem to draw hugh amounts of power like some of my earlier models. When the previous 25 pint dehumidifier stopped pulling humidity out of the air (WARNING: it kept running and using electicity while not pulling out water - SO CHECK YOUR MACHINE PERIODICALLY), I decided to buy a larger version of my previous model. The 40 pint surprised me in that the water resevoir actually seems SMALLER than the 25 pint! I'm not sure how this can be, but it really does seem to hold less water and need to be dumped more frequently. Still it is a good machine (for the one month I have been using it, at least), AND since I attach a tube to machine and have it drain out, it's not a problem for me. On the plus side, they put a handle on the resevoir which makes it alot easier to carry You might want to consider your options since you have to physically dump the resevoir regularly. I really recommend using a tube to let it drain, especially since the drain tube is at the top of the bucket and does not fill the bucket to empty (a plus in my book). I'll be interested to see if the Energy Star label really means it's more effecient than my previous model.
I would say the only bad part is the noise...
PRO: Much more effective than old dehumidifier. Churns out almost 5 gallons of condensate every day. The handle and wheels make it easy to move. CON: The drain hose was very difficult to install
