Equate Fiber drink works just the same as Metamucil but is half the price. I have been using Equate for years now and will continue with this product.
I can no longer find this product at the store. It worked for me for over a year. I have been using various fiber products for over 4 years now. Yes, the main ingredient is "sucrose", but the calories and carbs are overall low and the fiber content was enough to keep me from getting plugged. I only take the minimum dose in the morning and at night.
I am pleased that I am able to order this product online due to the fact that I won't have to go without it if the store is waiting for a shipment. The cost is the same.
Have used this fiber powder for years and for me it works better the "smooth non-coarse" powders. It may not be for everyone but I wold recommend giving it a try.

I'm sorry that this product has not helped some of the people writing their reviews. I hope u do find something to relieve your issues soon. But I should hv written one about 5 months ago when I started using this. I hv suffered from so much pain in my stomach and abdominal area- for more than 2 years and I hv doctors and hospital bills like crazy...by them telling me I hv gallbladder issues/acid reflux/hernia/IBS. Every night I've had chronic pain lasting up to 7 hours straight. Worse than labor pains since it was each night ! Tears and screaming- feeling like my life was over. It made my family worry so much. Only for one night the love of my life looked up on the internet that fiber may work. Well!!!! My $9 container and one teaspoon every night has done some Justice. I haven't suffered since- it's obviously a digestive issue and not all the other issues the Doctors proclaimed! I take it with me if I go away for a night. However the coarse is thick but Better than the fine version. Sorry that I wrote so long but it just reminded me to write a review-after I just drank it for the night before I go to bed now.
I've been taking Equate Fiber Therapy for sometime now. Wish I had known about it years ago. I take a heaping tablespoon everyday after supper. Works great so I can have regular, daily bowel movements. Highly recommend it to anyone who's having problems going to the bathroom daily.
My review is regarding the "Original Coarse" product.....I noticed this page included pictures for 2 different products.....? Kind of strange......anyways, I opted for the original coarse since it appeared to have less sugar than the regular equate fiber products......as well as the name brand......upon further delving though, this is actually a smaller dose......these are teaspoon doses......rather than TABLEspoon doses ;) so it probably comes out about the same sugar-wise....my biggest complaint is that this stuff does not mix very well.....at least when mixed with water....
But for the last couple of months it hasn't been in store , ( 3 different stores), so I decided to see if it was on line, well to my surprise it was and I ordered it, Well , when I got it, it wasn't what I ordered. I wanted 100% pysllium husk , nothing added, well this had sugar in it, Would like to know what the problem is???????? Why can't I get what I ordered? So I am returning it !
I was trying to buy just the fiber --- I need to avoid sugar. I did not notice the product is loaded with extra sugar .... into the garbage it went. My bad.
