I haven't really had a "Road Trip" with it yet but it has been very accurate in my local town finding a few speed traps and has already muted most of the background clutter. Still trying to get it to link to my Samsung S20 with no luck. I really want to see the functionality of it when it is synced to my phone. Very happy with the purchase overall! - Jim T
Our Passport detectors, being a few generations old, needed to be replaced. We purchased this one to take on a trip. Shipping was fast and we took it on a week long drive. The mount is awesome! The app works great and the detector is wonderful. We will be buying a second one soon.
Moved up from my 9500ix. In vehicle radars had started driving me a little crazy with that one. That's why i decided to upgrade. This ixc is awesome!! Many available settings and blissfully quiet unless it detects a real threat. Money well spent!! I also love the magnet mount. Ordering 2 more of those. One for my weekend car and one for rental cars while traveling. Thank you escort!!
I'm impressed coming from a Escort 9500ix detector! Testing the iXc with the 9500ix I haven't yet picked up other car's navigational radar with the iXc like with the 9500ix. The iXc only has detected true radar thus far into the game. I'm impressed with any escort detector I've purchased in the past. You have a die hard escort user here!!
The XIC is a great radar detector however the Escort live APP disappointed me because the speed limit is only displayed when driving on the highway and not the side streets. Other than this I’m very pleased with the detector and the magnetic suction cup window mount is very well designed.
I've owned Escort detectors including 2 cordless models since the first "black box" model. I am happy with this new ESCORT iXc performance and soon will test the blind spot sensor rejection capability on my new GMC Terrain Denali. The disappointment comes with the smart cord power supply failing and the magnetic suction cup falling apart after warrantee ran out causing me to have to replace these items to be functional again. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
This is my 4th Escort detector. The Bluetooth and WiFi features on the iXc are a + compared to my previous one (9500ix) that needed a USB connection to update its data. However, I don't find the Escort Live app too helpful as it takes you away from Google maps and Waze (should be made to integrate with major apps). As a detector, the iXc is excellent, as previous versions.
A little disappointed with the glass mount it often falls of the wind Shield and the device is stuck on 70 high speed limit where the highway high speed limit is75. I’m still working on removing a traffic trap that moved that’s annoying. Do to it not stay secured for the most part I haven’t had a chance to see how the radar performs.
I purchased this detector to replace a several years old 9500ix that was alerting almost constantly on the road caused by new vehicles Blind Spot Detection and Emergency Braking systems. It appears that Escort has solved that problem. I've seen about a 90% improvement in false alerts. HOWEVER, this detector has its own very annoying problem. I live in a city with quite a few fixed speed cameras on the city streets. This detector alerts on any documented speed camera within 3,000 to over 5,000 feet from my location. It doesn't matter whether the camera is on the current road. When I start my car in my driveway I get an alert for a speed camera that's 2,700 feet away on a street 3 city blocks from my home. I want the speed camera alerts but I don't need alerts about cameras that are almost a mile away in any direction from my current location. VERY ANNOYING!
Have had several escort detectors was very excited to get this one. Unfortunately, it didn't meet expectations. Always shows 2mph when parked. Speed is inaccurate vs both live app, google maps, Waze, and speedometer. GPS drops from time to time so I get no speed whatsoever, rendering the over speed limit setting useless. Sending back to store.
