Works great
Great Product!!!
:+1::skin-tone-2:
Great product except I really don’t appreciate the notifications that are just advertising more stuff. I bought what I wanted and it’s doing everything perfectly. When I see a notification, I open the app to see what triggered it but too many times it’s just an advertisement for more eufy products. No way to opt out of these nuisance notifications
I am a big fan of Eufy products and this garage camera has huge potential. Pros: - Video Quality Great - Notification Ai - Alarm siren Cons: - Switch Modes interface ( Needs to change the mode separately instead of choosing the whole house) - NAS (RTSP) does not work for events. The camera only pushes video to NAS for Continuous recording only. Seems to be a software bug.
Attempt #2 to post this review. Maybe they don’t show the reviews until there are enough of them, or the system lost my first one, or they deleted it. Not sure which. The build quality of the hardware seems really good, as good as anything I’ve ever bought from the Anker group. The install was easy enough, though the stranded wires are very hard to use with push in connectors. I had to buy an outlet splitter because the outlet is pretty far away. The usb power cable they provide is really long, just not long enough for my situation. It can open/close my garage door (chamberlain pro from about 2010). It can play an alarm sound that is very loud. The quality of the video stream is fine, and the app accesses it quickly. Does not come with an SD card, I will buy a heavy duty one like what you’d put in a car dashcam. However, I’m giving two stars because of the poor human detection and poor garage state detection. Sometimes it says the door is open when it’s closed. Every time the door is opened it gives about 5 or more notifications. When the door is open, it repeatedly notifies that there is a person when someone walks buy. So all in all it notifies way too much. You’d think a workaround would be to turn off the motion detection. Nope, that setting does change anything. Support is sending my feedback to engineering, and I will try to update this review when they try a fix.
I had such high hopes for this Camera functionality, specially that it replaced two Hardware components that i had (Smart Garage Opener & a Smart Camera). However, i realized soon enough that it was only Hopes! The Camera itself is good, however there are 2 major issues. 1. It detects Motion & Pushes out an Alert as it should, however, it does not show the video. It just gets stuck on decrypting Video. I have some suspicion that the SD card i have is faulty, i ordered a new one. if it works on the new SD card, i will redact this point. 2. The more important issue in my mind is the garage Door Opener functionality. This functionality should have a shortcut on the app. Instead, i have to access the App, then the Camera, Pray to God it connects quickly, then click the open/close Button. A better way is to either have a shortcut for the opener button on the App, or have the Android App to be "Widget Compatible" and have that shortcut on the phone display. Also, for some reason, when integrating with Google home, trying to open the Door via voice commands asks for a pin code, i do not have set a pin on the Eufy App, Nor Google Home. Opened a support ticket on that and still waiting for them to get back to me. If Eufy makes the garage Door Opener functionality better, i would put the rating as "Good" but until then, it is Bad in my opinion.
Ok install, good feature set. I installed this yesterday 29 Oct 2022, and when someone is in the garage, it alerts constantly. Like every 10 seconds. It’s stupid. Ok, so I’ll turn off the alerts…. NOPE, the switch does nothing, still alerts. The install was ok, but you need to know that they give you a long usb cable and adapter to power it. That’s not called out in the marketing materials. I had to buy an outlet expander. Also they provide stranded instead of solid wire which is a huge pain to push into the connectors on the opener. The unit itself is put together nicely and the camera quality is fine.
I guess this is an early adopter issue. Mine keeps disconnecting with the sensor, I have to re add it and now when connected it thinks there garage door is open when shut. On top of that it has caused my other remote openers to no longer respond. I have reached out to support but only response I have gotten is asking for serial number which I promptly responded with
Bought this along with over $200 total order from a referral link which my friend was supposed to receive $80 for, she never got the email confirming the purchase and hasn’t got the money eufy promised her despite calls to customer service! Between us we have bought 11 cameras from eufy and this really leaves us with a bad experience
