[Update after several months of use the unit functions very consistently and I have had no issues with it, it has been very useful (even notifying me of potenially dangerous dogs in my neighborhood that managed to get into my yard to threaten my cats, but don't worry the cats are fine thanks to the notification of this camera. I am raising my review by 1 star. I would recommend this product despite the slightly inconvenient setup] Hard to tell whether the battery unit also will work on hard wired power (it totally does on the back of the unit) but pairing between homebase and the doorbell is AUDIO based?!? The unit must be within 3 feet of homebase to pair, this is extremely difficult when hard wiring on the front of your house as is most convenient for most people. Also the qr code for pairing is on the back of the device so you have to pull it down again to pair or sync it, very annoying experience so far and I haven't even gotten it set up yet.

Works great, maybe too great. Once we made adjustments to the sensitivity and zone it didn’t pick up EVERYTHING. Only one small complaint, the screws supplied to mount with are cheap. Tried three screw and stripped three screw heads. Got my own screws and went up without a problem. Still a great product.

I like the camera, microphone, WIFI access, software, range, clarity of picture, just about everything about it once it was installed. Installation instructions leave something to be desired. Don't be fooled as I was, the "Quick Start" guide does NOT tell you to download the software and then bring the base within 5 feet of the camera to sync. It DOES tell you to sync them. Once you download instructions from the internet you then see that they need to be in proximity. Morale of the story is you need the instructions from the online source. I didn't like the very limited amount of room between the camera and my bell wires either. It wouldn't take much of a tweak to open that up a bit. Not everyone can add more room to the space on the wall where the camera hangs. Mine fits and charges but it is really tight. Overall great product just follow the instructions carefully. Would have been up and running in 30 minutes but instead took me 2-1/2 hours due to not getting connection while base was 50 feet and two walls away from camera. DOH!

The first one I ordered was not detecting motion and recording. Spent 1 hour with customer care before returning and ordering again. Second one also, same issue. Then I played around and i think I changed the resolution to low and after that it started working flawlessly. Then I changed it back to high and it still worked. I believe it is the known issue for this model as other people also faced it. Overall, once you get it to work, it is worth for money.

It's been a decent doorbell camera so far. I do not have it hooked up to the existing doorbell wiring. I didn't want it ringing in the house and causing the dogs to lose their minds. The motion detection can be a little slow at times but for the most part it isn't horrible. The sidewalk does a 90* turn about 20' from the door and leads to the driveway. If the delivery person is running from the driveway to the door to literally throw a package on my doorstep, it usually catches them just as they're tossing the package. If somebody walks up, it's pretty good about catching them just as they come around from the driveway. Battery life made it about 3 weeks the first time around. I did turn the sensitivity down a little after that and it seems to be catching less events now, but still reporting on the ones it should be. Overall it's better than what my dated camera was doing for me. We'll see how it continues to work. ***Update 11/10/2022 This camera is frustrating these days. I bought it in Aug and have been using it since the day it got here. I have changed as many settings as possible to try and limit the number of alerts I receive on it. I've changed the zone to limit the alert area but that doesn't seem to do any good. It will pick up on every car that drives by at night (approximately 50' from the door) but it struggles to pick up the Amazon driver walking up to the door for a delivery. It doesn't however pick up vehicles driving by during the day, only at night. My next step might be to reset it and see if that helps. It's nice having a doorbell camera but it's frustrating that it doesn't always work the way it should. I've dropped it down to 3 stars until I can figure out why it's not working correctly. ***Update 11/17/2022 I went in to the video settings and turned of the Auto Night Vision setting. Since I have turned that off I have not received a single false alert. I leave my front porch light on all night and that seems to be enough light for the camera to see clearly without the use of night vision. Not sure why having the auto night vision off is making a difference so far, but if it keeps from getting 30-50 false alerts a day, I'm all for it. Changed it back to 4 stars.
