OK, I purchased this vacuum over a month ago and was waiting to write this review. I have two messy kids and no pets. To me they are pets! But anyway, today I noticed some of the spitting that these vacs do. Remedy: CLEAN THE FILTERS! I lost suction and decided to clean mine with compressed air; it helped a little, then I took all the filters off I blew out the HEPA filter and just cleaned the cover. The next step was the canister and the center screen in the upper inside just above the canister, and I cleaned those two pieces. Finally the top filters, there are two sandwiched together. I tried the air but that was no good, so I gently washed them under warm water, the black sponge type filter was easy and the fiber type filter stays inside the frame and cannot be removed, however I still got it cleaned. And just at the last step I cleaned out the hose where it connects to the vacuum housing (spring type release). DONE! Big improvement and back to working like new. I believe that if you take these steps to maintain this unit it will give you years of use just like my last vacuum. This vacuum has a suction rating of 8 and it really was a good value but the wand duster is a very poor quality attachment and never stays in it's locked position. JUST CLEAN YOURS AND YOU PROBABLY WON'T EXPERIENCE AND PROBLEMS!!!
I have been shopping around. after purchasing and returning another brand, I decided to get this one. the suction is so good that when using the hose it actully retracts from the power... LOVE IT! there are a few things that could have been made stronger, I thing the clips for holding the cord could have been bigger. It was also very easy to assemble.
I just bought this today... I'm sooo pleased with it. It took less than 10 minutes to put together and it comes with an extra belt. the only downfall I noticed was when your wrapping the cord... the hooks arn't really far enough out.T he upholstery tool is a bit loud, and there isn't a handle to lift it up and down stairs. But other than that it love it it isn't hard to push at all, it wants to run across the carpet!
I think it's a great value! The duster on the side works great for cleaning the top of the fan. The claw is great for cat hair pick up on funiture. Overall, I'm glad that I purchased this one!
I was in dire need for a new vacuum, so I spent about 3 hours online comparing prices, features and reading reviews. Even though I'm not crazy about yellow and I almost didn't buy it due to the color, I thought this vacuum was worth trying. However, I was worried about the difficulty in replacing the belt should it break (I can never find a screwdriver when needed). I brought it home, had it together in less than 10 minutes. I gave the carpet "a good cleaning" with the 'old bagged' one. Then came the test with the new 'Eureka Altima Turbo Bagless Upright SpinDuster Vacuum, 2961AVZ'. When I turned it on, it felt like it was a forward self propelled unit and easy to pull backwards. After using this unit for 10 minutes, I looked at the dirt cup *WOW* was I shocked and embarassed. The amount of sand, pet hair, lint and whatever else was picked up was amazing. The old unit just removed what was on top. The Eureka Altima Turbo Bagless Upright SpinDuster Vacuum, 2961AVZ cleans the carpet deep down. I like the length of the cord, the onboard tools and the spin duster rocks! almost makes dusting fun. I recently had to clean broken picture frame glass off the carpet. I could hear a small shard stuck somewhere. It was very easy to locate and clear the clog. To sum it up, I would highly recommend this product, it just needs a new color, maybe fushia. LOL
Yes, it really does! The first time I used it I was glad no-one was home to see what I got in the cannister. It looked like I hadn't vacuumed in years. And that was only half the house. With a dog (small horse really) who tracks in all kinds of dirt, as well as two indoor cats, I thought I had a clean carpet with my old vacuum cleaner. This is Day Three and I am still emptying the cannister twice before I'm done. I know some of it is carpet fuzzies but I'm getting less of that now. The attachments seem to stay in place but I wish the little riser brush was motorized. It could do with a little more power.
I will start out by saying that this is a snap to put together and the dusting tool is a great feature. The vacuum has plenty of power and works great......but only for a short time! I am only rating this product so low because I have done this same thing twice now. Both times the end caps on the beater bar have melted and the unit becomes unuseable. We do have pet hair and human hair that gets wound up in the bar so I do clean it out!!! In the 6 weeks I had the last one I cleaned 4 times. Walmart has gladly taken them back because this has happened within the 90 day period, but the last vacuum lasted LESS than 6 WEEKS! On average I vacuum twice a week so that tells you that this machine is not built to last. It is a bummer, cuz for the money it is a great machine.....but I would like one that lasts at least a couple of years!!
After only 4 months I am on my second belt and it is always getting clogged up in the filter that says isnt there, but if you take the dirt cup off and reach up in there you will find a hard platic filter that is always clogged. The dirt is spit back at me after the vacuum picks it up. It doesnt even pick up much anymore. I believed it worked good the first time and that was the last time. If I would have known this I would never have bought it. I will never buy another one. I HATE THIS VACUUM!!!!!!!!
I bought this a year ago and it worked good for a month. The power paw broke just after a few months. The duster is a waste. It doesn't have enough suction anymore to spin it. The hose isn't even long enough to reach the ceiling. I have two cats and the vacuum doesn't even pick up the cat hair. On my dark rug I see rows of cat hair where the vacuum has just pushed the hair around. It is so frustrating. I usually don't write reviews, but this vacuum is terrible.
I have 2 boys..7 and 2. I have had this vacuum for almost a year and tomorrow im purchasing a new one finally. Its junk. I have to clean the filters all the time cuz it gets clogged. Dont pick up well. Wasted money and i dont recommend anyone should buy this one..i take care of the filters..at least once a week and it still is junk. It is also very loud. Not a happy customer i know that much
