Winter is coming, and I wanted an inverter to back up my power supply when/ if the power goes out. This inverter is great for charging laptops and phones, but mainly I wanted it for my portable heater to make sure I would have some source of heat if needed. It worked perfectly. I also tested this on my 900 watt microwave and it did just fine. When the electric goes out, it's nice to know I have a back-up heat source and a way to power small appliances. I had my husband show me how to use this in case he wasn't here when the power went out. I have to say it couldn't be more simple. Just hook this up to your car battery or cigarette lighter, depending on how much power you need, and it works like a dream.The picture that I have included is of my portable heater running at the 800 watt setting. If you go over the 1,000 watts, the safety overload will kick in, and the inverter will shut off. The directions that come with it are simple, precise, and easy to follow. I like that the inverter has a digital display to let me know when I'm getting close to overloading it. I have peace of mind knowing I have a power back up in case of an emergency. I highly recommend this inverter.
Amazing product and so incredibly convenient to have hanging around. First off this set comes with everything you could need to invert power- the only thing it could be missing is a Philips head for longterm mounting (it doesn't have mounting brackets.) It has an LCD screen which tell you voltage level of the connected power source, that it is or isn't connected properly, it also beeps if you have an empty battery, or if the input voltage is too high. I will say this inverter is designed for a 12 volt battery, if it's 6 volts it will not operate and if it's 24 volts it may sustain permanent damage. It also comes with: -power button -USB charging port (with flexible cover) -Mounting slots (3 total- 1 in front and 2 back) -3 prong 120 volt AC outlets -Cooling fans -Black (negative) plastic protective cap -Connection screws PM6x10 -Red (positive) plastic protective cap -Battery clips with cables, fuse holder, and O-ring connectors -Fuse holder -12V DC Vehicle adapter plug WITH O-ring connector It has two regular outlets for any typical household plug, it's a great brand and we love it so far. We have used with 12V power supplies like it says and never had a problem. We do keep it in our car except in the winter because it gets a bit too cold for these things, would recommend.
Well built product and makes a perfect stocking stuffer. We are avid campers and kids always complain about not being able to run their tablets. This time we are prepared to turn the cigarette lighter into a charger while of course driving and charging all our must haves.

The directions were simple enough, but the weekend was a blatantly obvious bit of info that was absent...the part about the vehicle's engine. Should it be running or not? If it should be running. When, exactly do you start it? Under what conditions would you use/not use the vehicle's motor running? These seem like obvious questions, but after 2 sets of eyes read & re-read the instructions AND after scouring the internet, including watching multiple YouTube videos, this part is still unclear. So...MORE info needs to be added, addressing the use of the vehicle's engine under various scenarios. The unit appears to be well-made. It is very Sturdy. Missing, though, is a HANDLE. It would make carrying the unit less awkward. The worst challenge was the screws you have to remove in order to attach to cables. The manufacturer has a used a drill/machine to screw them in, so not only were they borderline stripped, they were EXTREMELY hard to loosen. In fact, we HAD to use a driver and bit to actually remove them bc a screwdriver and brute force was not enough! Furthermore, the bit/screwdriver size is not your "standard" #2. A larger bit (#3) is needed. Not everyone has a drill or driver and #3 bit, making it potentially a hassle for the consumer. All in all, the unit works well. We show both the wattage with nothing plugged into I and another with a large shop fan plugged in and running. As we don't yet have a household generator, this little unit will come in handy should we need to power something or charge our rechargeable batteries during an outage. Over all, this unit feels like a good, economical, investment.
This is a great product with lots of features. It allows you to charge a number of items (using different power outlets), which is helpful. The only thing I consider a "negative" thing is that it needs a power source to work (i.e., attaching the jumper cables) instead of being more portable (with an internal, rechargeable battery). But other than that, it'll definitely come in handy for plenty of uses!
My first thoughts on this is compact, but it smells like an electrical fire straight out of the box, which I don't like. All the attachments are in the box and it was free from damage. This has a usage chart right on the back which is convenient so you won't have to keep up with instructions. I would have liked somewhere to store the wiring with the the unit other than the original packaging, but since it's so small anyway it isn't really a big deal. Works as it should which is good, but 3 stars due to the odor and lack of storage for wires
I was looking forward to using this 1000-Watt DC (Direct Current) to AC (Alternating Current) converter to power many of my power tools outside where I don't have access to 120-volt AC power. Using my existing AC power tools would save needing to buy battery powered tools. I rough conversion of 1000 watts to AC amps is 8 amps. First, I untightened the terminal screws in order to connect the 12-volt cables. The terminals are Philips head screws and were so tight from the factory that at first, I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong. After using a lot of force, I was able to unscrew the terminal screws to connect the cables. The cables are color coded to match the terminal connectors so it is easy to identify the correct cable to terminal configuration. The direct to the battery cables have a 200-amp fuse. I didn't blow the fuse and I am glad since I don't know where I would find another fuse and the instructions didn't furnish a part number. I first connected my small 2-amp jig saw to the inverter and it ran fine. I then tried my 4-amp ¼ inch electric drill and it ran but after I shut the drill off the converter shut down and begin to beep. I shut off and restarted the converter and again it ran until I shut off the drill. I tried to run my 4-amp saber saw and the same thing happened again. There is a watt meter on the face of the inverter and the drill showed 338 starting watts and 187 watts running. Both values are well below the 1000-watt capacity of the inverter. I connected my LED trouble light and it worked fine. I then tried the small solid-state TV in my shop and it worked fine. I don't know if the problems I encountered were just with this unit or all the EverStart power inverters. Most likely the converter would be useful for most solid-state devices commonly used when camping.
Well, I wish I had better news for you all. To start with, I guess you have to have some very strong hands to loosen the screws that the cords attach to, I struggled to get them free. I attached the socket attachment because I didn't want to hook it up directly to my battery. I plugged the inverter in and turned it on and everything seemed fine, so I plugged in a little fan and a charger. It immediately popped my fuse, because there is no fuse on the inverter itself, at least I assume that's what happened, hopefully the inverter didn't get destroyed or more importantly, something vital in my car. It does come with the optional battery attachment cables. I will check my fuses and maybe try again, but after this initial impression, I'm not very happy. This type of equipment should always have its own fuse to avoid damaging critical components in your car. Completely unimpressed, and it could have been avoided, had the company just put a fuse on it. I will admit I didn't check the rating on my devices before plugging them in, but that's exactly why a fuse should be included.
I had read some reviews and watched a video about the EverStart 1000w Inverter being temperamental. Everything I plugged in ranging from 200-800 watts caused the inverter to shut off and beep. I finally on my third try with a 400 watt heater got the inverter to stay on. The 800 watt heater would run for a few seconds and then the inverter would shut off and beep. All three heaters on fan mode only did not shut off the inverter. The inverter display did not register any watts being used by the heaters in fan mode so I plugged all three heaters into my 110 volt house watt power meter and it showed 18-22 watts. It seems the Everstart does not deal well with initial surges from high wattage appliances and oddly does not show low wattage readings on the display. I would not trust using any sensitive electronics with this inverter since it is not a pure sine wave inverter
