After cross referencing this battery, as it was not listed for my motorcycle, this battery was actually made by the original manufacturer supplier, the manufacturers product number was evident alongside the Wal-Mart item number. At $27 cheaper than buying from the dealer I was very happy that I spent a few minutes cross referencing this battery.
bought this battery worked great until all the water boiled out of it with just a trickle charger so I suggest you go with a AGM sealed battery if you truly want maintenance free otherwise check you water level at least once a month
Had the battery in for several months now and holds a good charge for at least a month... we'll see how long it lasts. As others have stated, the fill tube provided for the acid bottle does not work.
This is not my first ever start battery probably won't be my last the only problem I've ever had with these batteries is it seems like the negative and positive is always backwards and I have to mess around with the cables on my bike and change the length of it overall though with the money I save it's worth it even if it only last for three years I can deal with that it works out to be about $12 a year for my battery instead of $120
It seems best to use the vent tube to fill rather than the way too short tube supplied. You are warned. Also watch you don't overfill. it is a pain to suck out the excess with a straw. Use eye protection and use a back light to watch the level. This battery worked fine for 2 grueling years then went out all at once internally probably from vibration. You could smack it and the lights would come on but wouldn't crank. It is easily as good as the original.
I had this battery in my 450 honda ATV. battery lasted 3 yrs, 4th year wouldn't even take a charge or boost to start my machine.
Walmart told me this was the correct battery for my bike. Checked 2 or three times and made absolutely sure i was buying the battery the walmart website was telling me to buy for my bike. Got home with it, doesnt even fit in the battery compartment of my bike
I purchased this battery, and after filling it with the supplied acid mixture, spent 6 hours charging the battery as recommended, I discovered there are only 6 plugs. Unfortunately, my battery has an extra "fill" hole! I first thought it was a type of vent. Now I have to make another trip to Wal-Mart. The battery is usable, but I need to to "cap off" the 7th hole to prevent the acid from potentially spilling and or evaporating.
I used to buy these for my old motorcycle, I bought one for my 85 FXRC and after a week it was completely dead. Charged it wont hold power, wont crank my stock 80 Evo motor. This is what showed up to be for my bike. Paid double what list price is here at my local walmart.
I have had to fill a few batteries with acid in my day but this was the worst. To begin with the filler tube that fit on the acid bottle was too short to put acid in battery adequately, hard to turn over acid bottle without spilling some acid on battery. The filler tube kept falling off even though I only cut off the very tip of the acid bottle spout . So you have to hold the acid bottle with one hand and use your other hand to hold the filler tube so it wouldn't fall off ( the plastic that they use for the acid bottle is a very slick plastic is why ) would have been better to mold the acid bottle with the spout on the side of bottle but I guess they never tested trying to fill a battery. You deffenatly want to wear rubber gloves and fill somewhere outside that won't matter if you spill some acid on the side of battery. Would not recommend this to someone inexperienced. for sure you only have a certain amount of acid to work with.
