I purchased 2 of the EverStart Deep Cycle Marine Batteries 07/30/04 at 14:15:00 (I just pulled the warranty paper off the side) for my Airstream. I pulled them out and stored them inside when I wasn't using the trailer (most winters), and kept them charged up by using a slow charger every now and then. I put them into the RV a few months ago, and just went out to work on the RV this afternoon (30 July 16), and discovered that there was no power even though there was 2 days ago. Apparently, between 2 days ago and today, one of the batteries lost its continuity and just gave up the ghost. The other battery is now charging and seems to be doing OK and I'll use it for a trolling motor, but I'm going to have to get a new pair it seems. I wish my car batteries would last as long. Maybe the heat got it since it's been really hot lately.

Greetings, We bought 6 of these batteries about 8 yrs ago and each one of them still holds a charge at 13.56 Volts. We use them with our Solar and Wind Generator setups and have never had a problem with these batteries. I've had them as low as 11.2 volts and they have always charged back up to 13.56 volts or higher, have even had them up to 14.2 volts in high winds. Will definitely be buying more of these for our Solar/Wind Setup.

I bought two of these batteries for my travel trailer 6 or more years ago. They are still doing good but don't hold charge as long as they used to. I'm about to replace them with two more of the same series so I'll have a fresh pair to start my retirement with.

I run a 55lb trolling motor on this battery and it last all day on one charge. usually when I get home to charge the battery its at 80% after about 4 hrs of use. Thats what you want though. you don't want to run it down to 0. I might pick up another and do them in series for extended runs. and I'm installing a stereo that will pull about 2-15 amps. So on one of these batteries (109 Ah amp hours) at full volume it could run for 7 hrs. Not bad. Trolling motor at low speed will go all day.

I have two boats. I purchased batteries for both boats at the same time. One at Walmart the other at a big box store. My Walmart batterties are still up and holding a charge. My big box store batteries, cost more, with a 30 month guatantee, died at 30 months. I have just replaced both the big box batteries with the Everstart 27 DC-6 batteries. I saved $15 each and now have better batteries.

Battery different since June 2015?

Battery case different now than previous years. Labels don't say johnson controls anymore and the circular date code sticker changed from numbers to letters to represent the month. But, the case being different isn't a big deal. The big deal is the case appears to be leaking around the top edges. Not around the refill caps on the top, but about a quarter inch down over the side where the entire top surface is joined to the "bucket" portion. It weeps a bit of clear fluid that seems as if it would be acid. I wipe it off and more reappears the next day even when stored inside. Especially shows up when traveling. Don't know if I should he concerned as the battery is working at the moment. Also, the amp hour ratings are less than the previous 27dc. They used to rate them at 1amp discharge rate which gave a larger than typical AH rating. Now it is rated at the more standard higher discharge rate which gives a lower rating, but this would be true regardless of construction. Even alkaline batteries vary in ratings depending on actual sped of discharge.

Kept Charged lasted almost 2 years

I purchased 2 of these at the same time almost 2 years ago and I have an on board charger and kept them plugged in year round as everything I have read states to do. I actually took the boat out one time and maybe used an hour on the 24 volt trolling motor which is all these batteries were for. One will not hold a charge and the other is weak. I'm thinking about replacing with the Duracell's at Sams but they have worse ratings than these. Any suggestions out there for a good deep cycle that is rarely used.

Battery leak & Uncharged Battery.

I bought a dual purpose Battery last week, and returned it to Wallmart to exchange for a 27 DC Deep Cycle. When I bought the first battery I noticed one that leaked from around the top core, I reported it and they took it off the rack . I took another one that did not leak. These Batteries should be fully charged when sold...However when I got home I put it on the charger and it took 30 hours to get a full charge...? Now I am wondering if I should take it back and exchange again, as I am told that it's not good to let a Deep Cycle Battery discharge completely. It would be nice If I could ask an expert at Wallmart's, but I'm sure the lady behind the Battery counter is no expert...So I'm confused.

Poor Battery

I bought this battery in June 2015 for my Airstream Travel Trailer. I attempted to use my camper this year and the battery was dead. I plugged my camper in each month and charged the battery over night, since it was installed. The battery looks new and as if it came off the shelf. I removed the battery thinking my camper charging system could be bad but after I placed this on a regular charger I found it is a bad battery. I dont think I will ever buy another battery made by EverStart or one sold through Walmart since a year warranty is just not enough for the price. I will pay $20 more and get a better warrantied battery. 14 months is not long for a $90 battery to last and get to use it twice. I would not recommend any of my friends to buy a Walmart battery like this.
