A Nice little inexpensive 12 volt outlet that allowed me to install a 'hot' 12 volt wire on my motorcycle. It allows me to power up 12 volt devices like a Garmin GPS, phone charger, spot light, cigarette lighter... things like that. It comes with a (red) hot & (white) ground wire that I / can be wired to the battery. The outer casing is black plastic. It does have a "cap" or hood that protects the electrical surfaces that are probably be sufficient inside a dry vehicle - on my motorcycle, the thin "rubber band like straps" will probably break within the year from the weather, or in a couple of rides with careless use (it wasn't made with the motorcycle in mind). Anyhoozel, it replacing a similar device that finally bit the dust after MANY MILES, and was very useful. I'm sure this one will work fine for quite a while, too.
Good aux power outlet. Installed this in my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk w/cap to have a power supply for a lamp, fan, etc. when camping. Works fine so far and was easy to install. I received this product free in exchange for my honest review and I am quite honestly thinking of buying another one for my dash cam.
I got this item to review and wasn't sure what I planned to do with it. My husband installed it on his tractor to be able to charge his cell phone and iPod. He loves it and it was super easy to connect to begin using. He was listening to music while he bush hogged, but his cell phone was going dead. Now the problem is solved. There are so many different ways you can use this handy outlet. It seems durable and we expect it to last on the tractor for years to come.
Easy to install. It's good quality. Didn't know you could actually buy these... BONUS! Didn't have to pay someone a ton of money to do it. Very handy to have... I recommend this outlet if you need one.
My husband said this 12 volt power outlet was very simple to install. He put it in my car as an additional power source for my phone and/or for whatever else I may need it for. Also the cap is a nice addition as a cover for it. My brother said he is getting one for his can-am spyder motorcycle.
I needed an extra accessory plug in for my car because I have a lot of different devices to charge. This came quickly and it had everything I needed to install it and get it set up. I like that it has a cap to keep dirt and debris from getting in there when not in use. The side mount is nice too so it isn't just hanging I was able to mount it in under the dash where it isn't an eye sore.
The 12 volt DC charge port connected easily to a portable battery charger station. It allowed the DC charge cord for a cell phone to recharge the phone. The unit will also work when permanently installed and connected directly to a 12 volt battery. The rubber cover does not seem to be very heavy gauge. It could be made of thicker material so it would last longer. It is very easy to connect with the color coded wires. The screws included also make it easy to permanently attach. Overall this is an accessory that can be most useful as an add-on item.
I have an old Jeep, so there is no power outlet. This little unit fits nicely under the dash. The mounting plates seem a little weak, but the body has a good solid feel to it. There is a C-clip on the red wire and a bare plug on the black wire. I cut these off and added a 2-wire plug. The wire to the unit is about 6" long and does not reach very far. Seem like they should put a plug on the wires since you will most likely need to add a length of wire to get to a power source. I only gave it 4 stars because the rubber boot cover is very flimsy and keeps falling off! All in All. . . VERY HANDY!
Everstart 12 volt power outlet is a great addition to my car as it adds another power source in my truck. Outlet was easy to install, looks great and has a flip down protector.
he idea of having an extra outlet for a cell phone in the car sounded great. Unfortunately finding the correct wiring to plug into was hard. Asked a friend to help and both agree that we do not want a fire in the dash going down the road. Looking to see how much it will cost for professional installation.
