I got one of these after having tried several other 'round' or 'corkscrew' type dog stakes thru the years. It's been in the ground 2 or 3 years with a 50# dog tied to it, and it's never shifted or moved! LOVE IT
We have a 80lb German Shepherd & she has broke or pulled out all the other tie outs we used. So far this has held up & has never come out of the ground, the chain attatched hasnt broke either & is very sturdy. The only problem I have with it is its very hard to get into the ground & once its in you cant move it to another location. This is a great product at a great price!!
This product works very well if you have a dog that is smaller I have a dog the has broken 3 of these big dog stakes he is about 90 lbs.After breaking the first one,he was hit by a car on Labor Day 2009 and now has broken a new stake again tonight. I will not buy another one and instead invest in a kennel, I do not believe in chaining dogs anyway but this one was a rescue and this was the only option I had at the time,I could have bought a great kennel with the money it cost for the vet the first time the stake broke.I would not advise for a large dog at all and they are getting flimsier every time I look at them
