This will work great for the yard fountain.
It works, plain and simple. It's cheaply made, but will actually last a long time. It's *NOT* 'watertight' per se, but I've had mine sitting out in some bad storms here lately that have lasted 3 and 4 days at a time and no water is inside it...just don't submerge it in water. When your hands are cold it's a little difficult to open, but not so bad that you get frustrated and want to throw it away. Not very easy to open with winter gloves on, at least it isn't for me, but I can handle a few minutes without gloves on if need be. The cheap 'gasket' that is used compresses once and will stay compressed after that. A 'rubber' gasket instead of the 'foam' they use now would be better, IMHO. Overall I still have to say I'll keep it and get another, mostly because they're Made in the USA, it works, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I no longer get GFI interruptions on my heated bird bath.
Works great. I use it outdoors to connect my heated pet bowl. My outdoor little friend love it they have water any time they want.
This connector worked great for mechanically splicing two extension cords together.
