This is a good value for a smartphone - and this is the cell phone plan that I use. I'm very pleased. I wanted to write a review of this 'smartphone plan for verizon prepaid' because there wasn't a lot of information out there when I was looking at prepaid when I had fulfilled my verizon contract (2 year deal). I hope to provide a few details here as I did learn a few things in this process. Also, I did NOT purchase this card or plan online - I purchased it in the walmart store - so this review is of the actual product/service with verizon. As stated, I fulfilled my contract with verizon, so I have a verizon phone, I have an iPhone 4s, and had read somewhere online that it was 'possible' to use an iPhone 4s with the prepaid plan with verizon. I was very happy to hear it. I did some research on 'how' to get this done properly - I wanted to keep my cell phone number of course once I transferred to prepaid, and even though I did run into a few people with verizon who didn't know that much about how to get this done, I'm happy to say that I have my iPhone 4s (that I originally had with verizon contract) and once I fulfilled my contract there, I was able to get verizon prepaid using this same iPhone 4s and I have the same cell number and have the $50 smartphone plan (prepaid). Everything works great - I am very happy - and to tell the truth, I'm saving about $40 off my cell bill every month. (that is why I switched, obviously) My advice would be to talk to a person on the phone at verizon and/or verizon prepaid if you are switching from contract to prepaid. There just are some things that are better accomplished with a real person that cannot get done properly through the automated menu. There were a couple issues occurred when one of the customer service persons I talked with did something wrong (tho I didn't know this at the time) and got me signed up for prepaid but didn't use my existing cell number. What?! That person (tho very nice) didn't realize how to do it properly and I had to call back again and get things corrected. But it worked. And - when I was with verizon contract, I had signed up online for an account so I could pay my bill online - and as a prepaid customer now, I also was able to sign up for an online account to either pay my bill or make changes to my account. I'm glad to have that too. So this plan, the $50 smartphone plan with verizon prepaid (exclusive to walmart) works great with my iPhone 4s that I had with verizon contract. And I kept my same cell number. With this plan you get unlimited talk and text and the data limit is set at 1GB per month. The data is more than enough for me - as I work from home and have our own wireless network (wi-fi) so my iPhone uses wi-fi instead of verizon data. The only time I use my verizon data is when I'm out and about. I check emails, check things often - I use my iPhone a lot! I don't use up my 1 gb of data per month. It's good for me.
I was happy to learn of this $50.00 smartphone refill card. I had originally signed up in the Verizon store and was paying $75.00 a month for the same options except you got 1gb more data. I found the data to be enough for what I use it for. Never had a delivery problem for the code, and was easy to switch over on verizon's site without calling. Overall, very happy.
This is an excellent option for a single mom like myself on a tight budget, and also a good deal worth sharing with friends that may be affected by our current gov't shut down. If you use a Verizon Pre-Paid Smart Phone and are interested in paying approximately $50 per month for unlimited Talk, Text, and 1GB of Data, then all you need to do is order this card, and the refill code will be emailed to you within 48 hours, but sometimes much sooner. (As soon as just a few hours.) Once you have the code, call #611 on your Verizon phone and navigate the phone menu to talk to a customer service rep. Let them know that you have a refill code and that you need them to change your plan so that it is the Smart Phone Pre Paid $50 Unlimited Talk Text and 1GB of Data Plan. They will reset your plan settings, and assist you in applying your refill code. Then after that, each month you can purchase your code here online and when you receive the code, you can simply text it by following the instructions in your email and by using your phone! It's so quick and convenient! Thank you Walmart and Verizon for making this option available and for the incredible, dependable service that a single mom like me truly appreciates! I rely on my phone to stay in touch with child care providers and school staff in case my daughter has a health problem due to her severe food allergies! You give me the peace of mind to know that no matter where I am, I can be there for her in case of an emergency! God bless you for being excellent at what you do! Sincerely, Single Mom
Not much to say really. I bought this card when I bought the Moto G for Verizon Prepaid. This particular card offers unlimited minutes, texting, and 1GB of 3G data. Verizon doesn't let any prepaid service that use their network (Verizon Prepaid or MVNO's) have access to their LTE yet. My Wal-Mart was out of these cards so I bought it online and they E-mail it to you. Works fine.
Do not buy online. It says you could get code in an hour, don't count on it if you need it. Took 36 hours to receive. Go to store and buy if you can. Walmart needs to do something about that department .
this was quick and easy to buy
I purchased this online. The code arrived within ten minutes. I was able to activate it on my Verizon phone with no problem. I cannot say whether auto-pay for this will add the $5 to my Verizon account, like when setting up auto-pay on Verizon's regular plans (even though that is what they told me on the phone).
Yes, the card meets my expectations, but the service is a different story. I had to wait almost a week to get my card number. It was suppose to be sent to my E-Mail that day but wasn't sent until 4 days later and that was me E-Mailing the company. I would rather go to a store and get it myself rather than order it online. But other than that, Walmart.com is a great place to get almost anything! Thanks and God Bless!!
I decided to purchase this because my time had run out. I was hoping to get it immediately as soon as I paid with paypal. Well, I purchased it on January 4, 2014 at 10:45 am and did not get it until January 5, 2014 at 10:15 pm. I was not a happy person when my phone was no longer available for almost 24 hours. You are better off going to Walmart store location instead of online if you need it as of yesterday.
I got this because Verizon neglected to send me a reminder text that payment was due until AFTER it expired. So since it was midnight I purchased it online, here I am 12 hours later still with no phone when it says it was emailed 11 hours ago
