I am an elementary school teacher and I needed a new laminator to start the year. I have bought Fellowes products in the past and have always had luck, which is why I took a good look at this brand. The reviews online were in this laminators favor. It seems to be one of the better ones on the market. I ordered this laminator online and received it within a week, great timing and free shipping. I've done quite a lot of laminating (name tags, bulletin board items, numerous centers for student stations, charts, etc.) It didn't jam, it warmed up nicely, and it never over heated, and I laminated for about two hours straight. Pro's - Has a release lever - On/Off Switch - Cold or Hot option(s) - 3 Mil and 4 Mil settings but is said to laminate 5 mil. In my classroom I typically only use 3 Mil, so this works great. - Comes with laminating sheets (to start) - It can laminate photos - 12" option to laminate which is nice for larger items - Lightweight - pretty easy to carry - Doesn't seem to overheat (used it for 2 hrs with no problem) - Great warranty (compared to some others) Con(s) - Doesn't have a reverse function, although it does have the lever - 8 minute warm up (really this isn't much of a con, it's pretty typical) ***Tip - I ordered laminating sheets from Sam's Club (Walmart) online (shipped and received in less than a week) 200 sheets for $9.88 - best around.
Not real fat, but works without a carrier for long periods without overheating or jamming. Nice extra width. Good value.
This laminator works very well. It hasn't jammed and heats up fairly quickly. It's a little large but I've found a place to keep it that is convenient. I would highly suggest purchasing this.
The perfect laminator for home use!
Came to us quickly via Amazon. Works like a champ. Hope to utilize it often and for a long time, compared to last unit we had from another source that went south on us and initially cost 2x more! Would like it to do 5 ml for menus we produce but ohwell
Great laminator!!
This was a replacement for an extremely old machine. Start Up/Warm Up time under 5 minutes and laminates perfectly in a short amount of time. We do not laminate often, but when we do sometimes it's a large quantity at a time. This handle the load perfectly.
This laminator that we received has lots of options and will help with several different types of jobs. We won't have to outsource those larger projects. The cost for these extra options was well in line with a smaller machine.
We were using a unit that we bought in the store and twice they jammed up and could not be repaired. Sam's store was always out of replacement so I went to online ordering. This unit had very good reviews so I purchased it. Have been using for a month and I have found it to be very slow. I only have to do around 10-15 sheets a week so I can live with it.
The reason I give them 3 is because I was interested in them but when I received them they are way to big. The laminator is as wide as my desktop. So I returned them. I didn't pay attention to the discription when I decided to purchase them. I would have kept them if they were small. So its a yes/no on recommendation if you can use them. They are hugh!
