I have never seen a shredder that is so fast. It is very recent since I bought it so I can only say that it is all I expected. Good product.
Works great! Does everything the specifications said it would do from Fellowes.
I really think that this product is everything it says it is. Cross-cuts paper and credit cards just as advertised. I will truly recommend this product to anyone looking for a paper shredder for home office use. Get the 2 year replacement plan to just protect against the odds that you might end up with that one in what ever that never works right. Then just feed it and oil it after each time you have to empty the bin. That's all there is to it.
My shredders have been having heart attacks. I researched, & searched the net. I am very satisfied with this Fellowes P-48C. Fits comfortably on a typing table near my desk, easy to use, does several sheets at a time. Slot is not wide enough to get more then maybe 5/6 sheets thru, I am a Realtor with a home office and this does very well for me. Wish there were a secret door that opened to empty the paper out.
I did some research on paper shredders before I bought this one. Fellowes is suppost to be the best brand to buy. I only needed this for light use. It does a good job for what I need it for.
This is my third personal shredder for home and I love it; much better than my previous units. The P-48C has met all my expectations for price and performance. I have filled the bin three times without performance issues. I purged an entire year of documents without issue. I considered the price reasonable and Wal-Mart delivered it to my home as promised. Highly satisfied!
We've had this make and model for over a year. We purchased this one as a gift for a family member for Christmas. It has proven durable and reliable.
It is good for the money. I like that it cross cuts. realistically it can cut 5 to 6 sheets at a time without a struggle.
I bought this model shredder because Staples states it will run continously, not 5 minutes and then a 50 minute cool down wait. I bought it from WalMart because of the price - Staples online wanted $134.00 for it, WalMart price was $54.88 plus shipping for about $62.00 at my front door. When I first unpacked and tried the shredder, I could not get it to run. It finally dawned on me that the lift off head has an interlock to ensure when the head is off the catch basket, power to the head is disabled. My catch basket is slightly warped such that first the right rear corner must be matched up with the right rear of the head and then the rest of the basket lined up until the head is seated on the basket. With the head lined up and the interlock closed, the read shreds as advertised. I do wish the catch basket was BIGGER. Emptying the basket was easy as little or no shreds of paper stick to the head when lifted off the basket. The see through window is very neat, it lets you see when the basket is full. Truly a no sweat shredder IF you are careful to match the head to the basket.
Only able to shred 1 sheet at a time. More than 1 sheet and the unit jams! My husband had to manually pick, out with tweezers, the jammed paper. Frustrating to say the least.
