I purchased this heater prior to an outdoor patio holiday party. The temps were cool and it just added so much to the event and people ask a lot about the heater. We also used it to eat outdoors for Christmas dinner and it just made it an acceptable warmth.
The infrared is instant when you turn it on. I am very happy with it, I would recommend it to anyone who wants a heater for a similar use. This is a direct heat, the closer you are the hotter it is. Adjust where you want it in relation to your seating area. At night it actually provides light as well, much like a campfire. The rollers on the base are so useful, we move ours often. The outdoor space we have is long and each seating area is different. This is a very sturdy product and you can tell it is quality materials. Since I read the reviews about the assembly, I was extra careful. It wasn't hard to put together, but the pictures do not help. I actually assembled it without tightening the screws fully, actually had to undo one step and then it was back on track. Take your time when putting it together. 25 minutes is what it took. I am prepared to order an infrared bulb if needed, since that is a consumable item. But hopefully it last for a while. We have used this since July about 10 times. So far so good. BTW it also comes with a dust cover for the head of the unit. Nice!
Purchased this heater for my screened in gazebo. I considered natural gas and propane initially. Didn't want to run gas lines to the structure because of the hassle and expense. I also didn't fell like purchasing propane and transporting it around. This unit inexpensive to operate and there is no preparation work to feel warm. I can go out to my gazebo and be instantly warm with the flip of a switch
I purchased this heater in the Fall before the cool, rainy weather started. Decided on electric rather than gas heat, so there wouldn't be any gas tanks to fill up. We like to sit in the backyard year round while the dogs run around. My significant other is sensitive to the cold, so she enjoys sitting directly under the lamp. I prefer to sit off to the side, where I don't get the full heat blast. Overall, it's performed well to date and am glad we purchased it. Would recommend it to others.
This is my second FireSense patio heater. The same heater comes in black and stainless finishes, both mine happen to be stainless, but it is the same heater. I did extensive research before purchasing my first, and then liked it so much, I bought a second! Very well built, lots of heat. Heating elements can be purchased when they (eventually) wear out. Great company, great heater!
I bought this Patio heater a couple months ago and I am so happy I did! It warms up my cocktail area outside very well. It is super easy to use and nice looking. Great product...I may buy a second one :-)
This is being used on my outdoor deck. It is attractive and warms the general area it is directed at. It is easy to roll around and relocate as needed. I recommend this product.
tried last evening , temp around 39f. Living in TEXAS just need to break the chill. Working great. Used gas prior, however this is better for porch application. Easy to change area of coverage.
My brother in law had one of these on his lake house deck and it was quite nice on a cool afternoon, so we ordered one for our screened porch. Provides heat almost immediately and isn't too difficult to move. Some of the screw holes were a little challenging to line up during assembly, but all hardware ultimately worked.
Only tried once so far and temperatures were in the 50 F range and it seemed effective. Heat from above made it easy to make sure two or three people sitting beneath it would feel the direct heat. The head appears to be adjustable to make sure the best coverage of radiant heat is accomplished depending on the outdoor seating. The wheels on the base makes it easy to move around. Two people can easily lift it to bring inside tool shed for storage during rainy/snowy weather. Good instructions and easy to install, however there was some difficulty with the last installation step where apparently the inner stiff wire did not move enough to allow the switch to seat into the main shaft fully. After sending photographs of the not fully seated switch, customer service assured that it was safe to use.
