If you break wooden handled shovels this is what you need. A bit heavy. Solid shovel
Very sturdy, the handle shape is very nice. When digging, I tend to pry on shovels, and with this one, I'm not worried about breaking the handle. I've yet to find any Fiskars product that is not worth the money, this is no exception. One thing, "Long Handle" must refer to the fact that it is not a "short handle", not that the handle is longer than normal. The handle length is typical for a shovel.
This is THE shovel to use!! Cuts the ground easily and has less foot fatigue with its large stepping area.
strong well-built slices through the Earth no problem at all. I was going to buy a cheap boring shovel but I saw this one with the lifetime warranty and I said that looks like something pretty rugged. a new area in my house I'm turning into a garden I turned in the area roughly 200 square feet with ease in and out no problem shovel was very smooth probably waited and everything.
The best shovel I have ever owned. Sturdy and great for digging up ground that has rocks. Can pry objects without fear of breaking the handle. Wish I had bought this shovel years ago. Love the lifetime warranty.
as described, teardrop shaped handle provides extra bend-resistance and slip-resistance, it's actually light weight with this heavy duty, I'm sure it's gonna last long.
This is a strong metal shovel that cuts through sod and roots easily. I'm converting my yard into a garden by turning the sod. The ground has been compacted for decades and this shovel sliced right through. I looked at fiberglass and wood handles at lower prices but decided to go with this higher priced item. I do not regret it. It's worth it.
Just received this shovel by mail yesterday. It appears to be of very good quality. Really pleased. There is a label on it saying the Mother Earth News magazine named it "The World's Best Shovel." Not sure about that yet, but I sure am glad I bought it.
This is the perfect shovel for heavy-duty digging - anything heavy duty. I wish I had a million $$$$ for each shovel handle that I have broken in 30 years. I believe this one will break me before I break it. I would by a dozen more, but what would I do with them? I guess I could leave all 13 to others in my will. If a shovel can be pretty this is the one - actually looks to good to use. Want to get excited over a shovel? This is the one! Buy one for the heavy duty digger that you know.
Used it about 12-15 times and on the first 20 lbs rock spade cracked
