Haven't had it long enough to evaluate durability and the casters should be heavier duty but overall a well made chair. Went together easily and loved the two different length shafts. Can adjust the overall height using neither, one or the other, or both. Shipping was a lot faster than initially indicated. Kudos to Walmart and their vendor.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super comfortable chair! The fabric and padding also makes it feel comfy. Easy to move around in. The back piece reclines a bit. It's also super easy to change heights, by just the lever you can go lower or higher. Overall, this is a great quality drafting chair!
relatively simple to assemble, however, directions were not very clear regarding the main post set up to base. Its feature are quite limited. Not much in adjustment options, but for the price it is a good chair for simple use. Not a chair for full time office use. I use it for music. A good, comfortable chair for playing guitar at the right height, and multiple keyboard set up playing. The long hours of recording require a chair that has height and saves back and glut muscles from fatigue. price was good compared to compatible products in this range.
This is a chair. It lets you sits on it without falling apart, so it accomplishes it's job quite well, especially considering the price. It's not the most comfortable chair in the world, but it's pretty decent. For some reason, it came with the bolts for armrests, too, but the chair doesn't have any armrests. I'm assuming they can be purchased separately. My main complaint is the wobbliness of the foot ring thing. It would be nice if it was easier to swap out the adjustable height piece thingies, too. They're a brilliant idea, but it's really difficult to get an end out of the chair if you want to add one in or take one out. If you need to add/remove one of the height adjuster cyldinder thingies, it's much easier if you have someone pull on the wheels and then have someone else pull on the top cylinder.
Got this for the kitchen as I have some issues about standing for long periods of time (which we all do in the kitchen). According to my grandson who put it together, it was easy to do. (Took him about 15 minutes, maybe less). The seat height is adjustable and that aspect of the chair functions relatively well. A caution, however, the wheels roll quite easily so be careful when getting on and off - might be a good idea to be backed up to a stationary site while getting on and off. Also, suggest you make most of your movements backwards as that seems to take the least amount of leg energy. I was, actually, surprised that it was this good at this price point. I have only had it for 2 weeks now....so if there is any change in my experience with this item, I shall post again.
Bought This Chair For The Modified Counter I Just Added To My Craft Room. 24" Height Stationary Stools Just Didn't Work, They Were Too Short To Comfortably Work With The Computer Keyboard, Mouse, And Screen On The Countertop, Or Do Vinyl Cutting, Weeding, And Application Comfortably. Needed An Adjustable, Reasonably Comfortable And Wheeled Drafting Stool Without Busting My Budget. Few Retailers Locally Even Had Them In Stock, But Were Happy To Order One In, But All Were Double Or Triple Or More In Price Than This One And Similar In Quality Unless I Was Willing To Pay Much Much More... Not! Found This One Online, Read The Reviews, And Decided To Take The Chance. Free Shipping To My Home Was Great! It Arrived Exactly When Walmart Said It Would, Was Easy To Assemble, And Appearance Was Exactly As Expected. Only Complaints Were 1) The Hardware Packaging Inside The Box Had Broken Open So The Screws Were All Over Inside The Shipping Carton, But Fortunately They Were All There, And 2) A Couple Of The Screw Holes In The Underside Of The Seat Where The Bracket For The Back Attaches Were Slightly "Off" But I Was Able To Manipulate It Enough While Tightening The Screws To Make It Work/Line Up And So Far So Good.
I am very pleased with the chair. Very good value for the money. However, lousy assembly intructions. Consisted of one sheet with icons - no text. Parts list shows two sections of the center mast the same length - they are not! I had to assemble, take apart and reassemble. People with limited mechanical skills might be baffled.
The instructions do not seem to match the product, as a previous reviewer stated. I think you are supposed to be able to use either extension or neither. Once you get the extensions on there and sit on the chair, they are impossible to get back off, and I work in a hardware store. We have the tools and the people to accomplish virtually any reasonable task of this nature, but we could not figure this one out. One of the reasons we purchased this item was that it could be adjusted to a drafting chair or down to a regular desk chair. Now we have a product that is too high for an office chair, and too low for a drafting chair and is almost useless.
This chair to begin with is extremely cheap. To be expected for $60 however the instructions DID NOT say to leave a specific piece out of assembly if you wanted the lower seat height which I wanted. Now they won't come apart and the chair is too high. Also the chair is crooked and leans to the right. Overall horrible instructions, hardware, etc and very cheap worth only $30 not $60. DO NOT BUY
The instructions for assembling the chair left a lot to be desired. Because I was well acquainted with the mechanics of the job, I was able to accomplish the task: however a less skilled person would have had much difficulty identifying the various parts and how they were to be fit together.
