The faint of heart should place this out of hearing distance. It zaps them all! It seems to have eliminated most flying insects near the house and summoned them from the rest of my acre. I'm getting another for the back half of the property. It may have saved me the cost of screening my porch because of the mosquitoes it eliminates. I was greatly helped by the other positive reviews and after my research on various models was determined to buy this one, although my local Wal-Mart was out. I ordered online and it arrived, free shipping in a couple of days. It is not a danger to bees as they do not come around at night. I examined the large pile of carcasses under it and have yet to see a single insect I will miss. Hung away from the house as the instructions advise, and because of the protective grid, it seems to pose no problems for lizards or geckos. The recommended fragrance lure replacements seem priced a bit high, but my mosquitoes seem to come in droves without it.
We needed a new insect killer and wanted one similar to the one we had, yours was the closest with the same watts and the best price we found. Have been using it since it came in the mail. Works great!! Now I'm hoping to get more than one summer out of it, hopefully three or more before the bulbs give out. The last one when the bulbs died so did the unit. So far so good after 2 weeks of usage. From the moment it was plugged in it's been zapping those pesky mosquitoes!! Have seen a noticeable decrease in the bugs around the home and I live in FL so we know a thing or two about bugs. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Works very well, has a pile of dead insects underneath every morning. The insects fall through the bottom and are not stuck in the screen or in the bottom like my previous Bug Zapper.
It seems to work fairly well. Bought this and had it shipped. Seemed to knock down the mosquito population around my back door, the weather turned cool and county mosquito spraying program caught up with mosquito production right after we got the zapper so I didn't get long term results. It seemed to make a difference for the short time we needed it. I bought 2, one for near the front door and one for out back......they work better than spray for sure.
works excellent, I am giving 4 stars because the cord is really short. You must have to buy another extension cord

Works well. My only complaint is that the plastic attached to the top arrived broken and cannot be hung up. Not enough plastic around screws to give it strength
I have had one of these for years and it recently went out. This new one DOES NOT work like the others that I have had. This one does not have the black lights and I don't think it has killed one bug during the entire 4th of July weekend. Tried to call the service number that came with it but its a recorder that says to leave your name and number. Need to return!
Worked well for the few days it lasted. Then yellow spot at top of part of of bulbs then 2 hours later shut down completely. not working. not flowton normal
