We love the space, accessibility, lighting, & sturdiness of this refrigerator. No searching for lost food, or bending down trying to see back in the shelves. It’s great in our newly remodeled kitchen. Family comes to see the kitchen and go right to the fridge. I highly recommend the entire gallery line that matches this piece! The sliding drawer of the freezer is so smooth and sturdy. The ice maker is great. The shelves in the main compartment are all so nice. The lighting is beautiful. Our new 27.6 cuft Frigidaire French Door Refrigerator arrived on New Year's Eve, a wonderful year-end gift for my wife and family. The refrigerator has many well-appointed features---LED lighting, spacious STURDY shelving, rear-wall PureAir Filtration System, EZ-glide drawers and in-door controls. Did I mention the excellent lighting?! We are so pleased with how easy it is to change the water filter and monitor the unit's controls, you will be as well. Frigidaire, you've done it again! Pros: I'm not quite into the 3rd week of ownership. I am very happy with the refrigerator. I don't mind not having water in the door because my sink is less than 7 steps away. The ice tray is large and makes plenty of ice. It's nice to have a side by side that you can actually fit a frozen pizza in. Cons: The doors are light, but require a slightly heavy push for the mechanism to seal shut- making operation of the doors noisy. Items on the shelves located in the doors must be secured or they are prone to fly off when you shut them. The lower freezer door can be noisy, as well, but mostly due to its weight.. The ice maker makes plenty of ice. Enough that when over full, the ice will fall freely to the bottom when you pull out the shelf. Easily fixed by manually turning off, but the mechanism to turn off the ice is hard to reach. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only thing keeping me from giving this fridge a 5 star rating is that it requires you to open the fridge after a power outage in order to turn it back on. What if we were away? Fortunately we have been home during recent storms, and it has not been a problem. This is a design flaw, in my opinion.
Refrigerator is 4 months old. Very slow at making ice. Today could not get drawer open as a layer of ice had formed under the freezer drawer. Every time drawer is pulled out ice falls on floor. Seems water is running down back of freezer onto the bottom instead of making ice, this is the ice sheet I took off bottom of freezer.
When I was searching for new appliances it was hard to find reviews from people who had owned the appliance for a considerable amount of time, so here is one in case anyone is looking for the same. I researched this purchase obsessively. Waited 20 years for a new kitchen and I was going to get it right! I actually had very few to choose from once I decided I did not want to lose all that room inside by getting water and ice in the door. I also think fridge looks so much more sleek w/o it. Felt like 80% of new fridges sold now had that in the door. I also found that the Korean brands had some of the CONSISTENTLY WORST reviews so that further reduced my choices as those brands dominated the aisles everywhere I looked. Smudge proof was a must, and finally, I wanted the biggest one I could find since we ripped down to the studs and could build around the fridge! This one was the winner and we love it. So sleek and clean looking. I've read complaints about noise but whatever noises it makes here and there to make ice or whatever else it does sound like normal fridge sounds to me and are hardly noticeable. Two minor complaints keep me from giving it a 5...the crisper drawers are super hard to put back when you remove them for cleaning. Always feel like you are gonna snap something in the process, and it does turn into a process. We never had an icemaker before so I have nothing to compare it to, but whenever you open the freezer if it hasn't recently been opened, ice that has piled up in the back, spills over the back and and 2 or 3 cubes end up under the basket and/or on the floor at your feet. Over time we've learned to open drawer slowly and scoop ice forward before we open it all the way. I'm just so thrilled to even HAVE an icemaker, and happy with the rest of the fridge that we just deal with it. .
I love my new refrigerator! The only thing I don’t like and the reason for four stars is that we didn’t want water or ice on the outside.
