This is a staple in our medicine cabinet. The moment we start to feel a tickle in the throat or someone in the family is sick; we all step up the echinacea. It works great for the immune system. Helpful for prevention and shortening the duration of an existing cold or bug.
This product works well for the cold and flu season. about twenty drops to a drink of your choice not alcoholic of course, LOL! Once daily and a small amount of Red Clover extract, just at the first sign of the sickness and your good to go. I would recommend this to every one to buy.
If you get a cold, I swear by this stuff. Put 2 dropper fulls into a cup of water and drink it down. Do this a couple times a day and you will be feeling better in no time. I usually do this on an empty stomach if possible -- first thing in the morning. I can't say enough good things about this stuff.
As soon as I see that my kids (2 and 4) are getting a runny nose, I give them half the recommended dose of this up to 3 times a day and since I've started doing this their sickness 99% of the time never lasts more than a few days and never progresses past a runny nose! Love this stuff! I would much rather give this to my kids than a bunch of medicine with artificial sweeteners, dyes and ingredients. After seeing how well it worked for the kids now everyone in the family takes it at first sign of a cold.
Now don't get me wrong, I like drinking like the rest of you, however 35% alcohol is a tad bit too much for meds, and especially those meds you want to taste good in other drinks. As far as efficacy, no idea. I have no proof either way... its like taking vitamins. However, if a large population says that goldenseal and echinacea have antibiotic and immune system support, I'm willing to try them.
EXCELLENT product. excellent service
I have used this product for years. It's a good brand.
I am sure this is a great supplement, but I didn't read the ingredients. I made an assumption from the label that is was just Echinacea and Goldenseal. But is has St. John's Wort in it, an herb I can not take. There is a no return policy when I clicked the link. I will now always read fine print on the supplements.
Not as strong as other mfgrs. Normally I get a flushed feeling when my immune system is boosted. I didn't notice that with this product. Also at their recommended dosage, their 1oz. bottle only supply a 4-day dose. But I do like the quality of Gaia products. Gaia's product support is courteous and knowledgeable - 5 stars. If you need something stronger, look into like Herb Pharm Rapid Immune Boost.
I hate to say it but every time I used this before bed I had terrible nightmares overnight. I even took days off from using it then went back on for a day forgetting not to take it before bed and had nightmares again then too. Normally bad dreams are few and far between for me but they're guaranteed if I have 10-15 drops of this before bed. Also, I'm pretty sure my bottle actively made me sick. If I was dedicated about taking it a few days a row in the morning because I'm trying to boost my immune system, by day 3 or 4 I'd start developing a sore throat. I did my last trial of this recently and ended up home sick for 2 days of work from a sinus infection. I've never had a sinus infection before so whether it's a side effect from the bottle or not, it definitely wasn't boosting my immunities. I dropped it in the trash just this weekend, I'll go back to echinacea tea if I feel the need.
