Gap Home 17-Ounce Blue & White Assorted Fine Ceramic Mug Set I recently got these whimsical printed mugs and they are now my secret to food creations in minutes. They have a smooth ceramic finish, and look like something you would see in a home in the South of France. These mugs are larger than typical mugs and they make it easy to heat up soups, side dishes, and leftovers in the oven or the microwave. Cute enough to place on a trivet on the table they keep foods hot. I have used them to entertain guests and they begged me to tell them where I got them. They also look great when placed on open shelving in my French shabby chic apartment. I was excited to get these - not that I need new mugs - but there were so cute looking and I so enjoy relishing that cup of coffee in the morning. They were very well packaged - which gave me hope for a quality product. And YES. Wow. They are gorgeous! I'm particular about coffee mugs. I don't like cheap looking, light weight cups, but these are chic, beautiful, fairly well weighted and hold more than a full cup of coffee. I often have friends over for Saturday morning coffee/tea and I can't wait to use these! Although I'm enjoying each of them all by myself in the morning. I'm delighted!
Hello Everyone, I thought I'd give a set of these Beautiful White and Blue GAP Home Mugs a try with my daily morning coffee routine and Boy am I glade I did. These mugs come in a set of Four Beautiful White and Blue patterns (Four different patters in the set) and they are extra big in size Seventeen ounces. With one of these coffee mugs, I can actually say I'm down to one cup a morning. But just between you and I the Mugs are Really Much Bigger than normal coffee cups are :) . And they really keep your coffee warm for alot longer than a normal size cup does. I truly enjoy these mugs and by the way they are Dishwasher and Microwave safe. Just incase you need to pop your coffee into the Microware for a quick reheat. So In My Opinion "YES" I would recommend these GAP Home New Blue Seventeen Ounce fine Ceramic Mugs to family and friends alike. And to anyone looking for a "Great" large mug.
There isn't much I don't love about these mugs! The diameter measures 4.5 inches and are 3.5 inches tall. Although you can use them to drink beverages, it will work well for soup. I do wish they came with a lid to prevent splatters when heating in the microwave. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. This greatly simplifies my life! The patterns on the four mugs are super cute and aren't just for a specific gender. Can easily put candy, hot cocoa pack, or dry soup in them and give as a gift.
When you sip on these mugs there is the thinner feel to the lips giving the feeling of drinking out of better china. There is a delicateness that one must be mindful of and treat them gently JIC. They heat up food without the mug itself also heating up (really microwave safe). They look fantastic as decorations. They hold just the right amount for a good serving sized bowl of chili or soup. This line is a nice addition for Walmart to carry. The blue color adds a cheery note to the kitchen coffee bar. Definitely keepers and will be using a lot including hot coffee/tea, soup, chili, cereal, ice cream, desserts, etc.
Very nice looking set of mugs. They go well with my coffee maker. Says they are 17oz but practically speaking only 16 oz without getting to close to overflowing, in my opinion. Stll hold more than enough for me. They nice are mugs , glad we got them.
My favorite thing about this set of mugs is the design. I usually prefer things to match, but I love the set anyway. The polka-dot is my favorite. I also saw that GAP Home has matching salad plates for them! I feel these are better used as bowls for soup, ice cream, and the like - which is going to be my preferred application, rather than coffee or drinks - because of their size. No issues running them through the dishwasher after use. They are labeled “dishwasher and microwave safe”, which is a big plus. Criticism: I do appreciate the lightweight mugs, but the ceramic is thin. The GAP Home mugs are delicate compared to my other coffee and soup mugs. I feel it would not take much to break a handle off of one of these mugs. One of the handles I received did come with a (very small) chip already. I would have not thought the mugs delicate, if the handles were thicker. Not as concerned about the bowl part. So overall - The design is very attractive and GAP Home has other sets that match the mugs if you want to coordinate further. They seem a bit fragile. I would still recommend these to a friend, based on the design and large size alone.
I really like these oversized mugs, the patterns are bright and fun ;) Perfect size for ice cream or hot soup while you're watching TV. But the best thing about these mugs is that they are not really heavy like most oversized mugs are (who wants to hold a 2 lb. mug?! Older people with weak hands or arthritis would really appreciate the lighter weight.) The weight reminds me of fine porcelain tea cups, but unlike porcelain tea cups they are very sturdy! They do just fine in the dishwasher, no change in color or finish texture (yes I've had that happen too!) But for me the real test of a good mug is how they react to being zapped in the microwave for 1 minute (to make tea or reheat coffee) - these did just fine, the handle was not too hot to hold as happens with a lot of other cups or mugs (I think we all have mugs on the shelf that we know cannot be zapped without becoming too hot to handle!) I have not tested it for longer than that but for 1 minute it does just fine! Thinking about getting a second set to use as herb pots on my kitchen windowsill, they're that pretty! :)
I absolutely love these coffee mugs. Besides looking great I really appreciate the size and the design of the handle making them very comfortable to use. I'm always looking for large or oversized coffee mugs for my morning coffee but they are usually pretty heavy. These are large but not at all too heavy. I would highly recommend to anyone considering buying these.
I like these cups because they are so large! They can almost hold a cup and a half of coffee. I also like that they all have a different pattern. It makes them unique. They are easy to clean because they can go in the dishwasher. They are also microwave safe, so you can reheat your coffee. I would definitely recommend to friend's and family. I would have given 5 stars but I have other cups that are thicker and heavier. These are more susceptible to chipping and cracking.
