I purchased it three weeks ago to replace a fenix 5 that I've had over seven years The watch is still functioning fine but it broke where the wristband attaches
Great watch. Feels solid. Incredible battery life.
There are so much to say how much I am impressed with the Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar Every day since I bought it a couple months ago, I continue new features and ways to program them. Battery life is really amazing. Even Stitch is admiring the watch. Big thanks to Garmin on designing an amazing watch. I highly recommend this to people who are active or wants to track their health
I absolutely love my Garmin Fēnix Sapphire Solar Multi-Sport Watch! I debated a lot over this and the Epix Gen 2. I went with this one for the solar charging and the slightly lower cost. If I wanted a fancier screen I would have gone with an Apple Watch Ultra. However, I feel that the two watch model lines should be combined. I don't see why you have to choose between features that obviously belong together. That's my only complaint. I bought this watch because it seems purpose-built for the Spartan Race and other outdoor activities like backcountry hiking. I wish the Garmin Explore software was a bit easier to use. But overall, the watch is fabulous! All the features work great. In fact, there's more features than I know what to do with! Excellent Multi-Sport watch!
I opted for the 7 and not the X model so I didn't look like a clown. Don't get me wrong, the X model gives you a slight advantage on battery, but at 2 weeks plus battery life, we're splitting hairs… it's the perfect size at 47mm for a tool watch. The Apple Watch can't hold a candle to this thing. The battery life being the biggest differentiator, but the list is endless. It's crazy accurate, and the app interface is far superior to apple's exercise rings.
I had a Garmin Vivo 4, for 1 1/2 years. I mainly used it for Mountain Biking and also Kayaking. It survived quite well but this time around I decided to upgrade to something even better and I chose the Garmin Fenix 7 solar sapphire. So far I'm very pleased with the watch and all the features. It's a pricey smart watch, I bought mine on sale. I was looking for a new watch that can withstand all the outdoor activities that I enjoy doing. I do like the free watch face options. The battery life is superb.
I've had my 7 for a month now and today will be the first time it's seen the charger. I'm still learning so much of what it is capable of. It I love the bio metrics and cannot wait to test the hiking and altimeter.
I've had four different brands of health and smart watches and the Garmin Fenix has outdone them all. For my use, I won't be checking email or searching online, but I want to know that the device has pinpoint accuracy, a long battery life, provides a wealth of health data and still gets notifications for the things that matter to me. Combining excellent workmanship, materials and technology, the Garmin Fenix is all of that and offers room to adapt to each individuals needs.
The watch delivered everything that was advertised. I use primarily for hiking/mountaineering, orienteering, and as a safety tool to help get me to or out of a backcountry location. I only had a couple of problems. When I added a second hike custom activity, I wanted only three screens associated with that activity, but sometimes others would randomly appear as well, forcing me to scroll through unwanted screens when my purpose was to create a more limited option set. Sometimes data screens I created were not updating while others were... seemed glitchy. Secondly, the small screen on my midsize version was a strain on my eyes. It was for this reason that I ended up returning it. I think the 7x would be better, but I'm afraid it will be too large for my skinny wrists, and I can't find one to try on in the northern half of Kansas City. Garmin, if you can do something about this, let me know.
After only two weeks of use the watch has already began losing the blue color around the watch face- with zero drops. For a watch designed for activity I am highly disappointed. I am the product tester for a large running group here in San Antonio and will not be recommending this watch.
