Once I worked out how to load music on to it and then work the volume it's everything I needed Love it do not need to carry an extra device for music Nice and compact great product Battery life is good as my last garmin was starting to run down faster
I love all the features! I previously had the venue and upgraded to the 255 forerunner and after eight months it's never off my wrist. The flash light features definitely my favorite
I've been wearing the Forerunner 255 for about 3 weeks now! I'm finally getting the hang of accessing all of the information being tracked and fine tuning all of the personal details. Would definitely recommend for the runner/athlete or average person looking to be more mindful of their health stats!
I owned a TomTom fitness watch for several years and trained for several Tough Mudder competitions and ran I several Tough Mudder competitions wearing the watch 24 hours a day for several years. The TomTom finally died. I looked at several watches to hold up to my demands and worn 24 hours a day. I have been wearing the Forerunner 255 for about a month, battery life is great and it is featured packed. I am still learning about new features on the watch. A lot of great engineering went into this watch. It was a good purchase.
The only thing I still wish this watch had was the white band and rose gold watch face but other than that, this has everything I was looking for. So far, I've used it hiking, running, standup paddleboarding. Very light. Love the customizable 6 field data screen which can be done on the watch and the phone. GPS now comes multi band and it did very well out in the mountains (ice house trail). Love the color screen (my previous watches 645 music, venu 2S, 745, 245). It's great Garmin included the altimeter to track those hill elevations (245 doesn't have that). Love the training stats (venu 2S doesn't have that). Sleep tracking is informative too (745 doesn't have that). I had all those other watches and wasn't happy and kept my Garmin 645 music because of the run stats. Venu 2S was good till I keep accidentally ending runs because of the touchscreen. So Garmin 255s really works well just having the buttons. I've used music with Spotify and connected to my aeropex headset and sounds pretty nice. The morning report is a great motivator, nice touch!! The body battery is quite accurate on how I feel throughout the day. As for the watch battery, I charge every 5-6 days depending on activities and that's tolerable. I plan on doing half marathon races and entered the races and the watch now tells me how many weeks to go to train for the races. Pretty neat! Highly recommended!
I got this for a Christmas gift and oh do I love it! This watch has SO MUCH data and the more you wear it the more data it produces. It takes a bit for the watch to get to know you (about a month) so you have to be patient for a bit. The workouts are great because you can program them! You can program a run or a HIIT workout which is probably one of the coolest features. I also think this is WAY more accurate than the Apple Watch I used to have. 10/10!
This is just the best watch for the real athlete in you! Listen, had an Apple Watch forever, and the anxiety of that watch drove me insane with endless buzzing, features, and of course the terrible battery life. If you are an athlete or someone that wants the high level features for performance, V02, music, and seven sleep for any of the following: running, weights, and almost every other sport, this watch is for you! I had my doubts for so long, and I think garmin is all I can use from now on.
Since my 645 Music broke the case just playing with my godson, I needed a new fitness watch to replace it. In the Garmin line, what made the most sense was the 255 Music for perfectly replacing the functions of the old watch. I've had it for a week and I could see the 4 years of evolution from one to the other: bigger screen, with better resolution, GPS that locks almost immediately, sturdier buttons, more useful training statistics and the music function without crashes during sessions of training. Oh and a bigger battery too, for about the same price as before. One complaint: the screen could have better contrast indoors and larger fonts on the system.
I have the watch about a month now, battery life is 8-9 days. I for the most part like the watch a lot, loaded with features. The one thing that I am unhappy with is that garmin does not let you manually input BMI information and will only use what the watch "guesses" your BMI to be. I track all aspects of my health and fitness and this seems ridiculous that garmin not only won't let you input your own data but inputs grossly inaccurate data of its own. I had dexa scan which showed my BMI of 13 however garmin inputs its BMI info on me as over 24% its laughable that it's that incorrect and pathetic that garmin won't let you use the more accurate data as this is a device that supposedly tracks health and fitness levels.
I wish I can only ONE data screen as my old Garmin 745. It is itching my wrist, I need to use tape to prevent the itching.
