This has been a big help getting around to places I am not familiar with. It also helps with telling me when there is heavy traffic ahead on the highway. I love the fact of the bluetooth capability. Makes hand free calling a breeze. I liked it so much I talked my sister into buying one. I don't know how I got around without it.
Had a hard time finding anyone that stocked the smaller screen Garmins, happily Walmart.com did. Great value, very happy with the purchase.
Had a basic nuvi but wanted bluetooth capabilities. Read on Garmin website to see if my phone was able to pair with the Garmin. The website was inconclusive. Took a chance, and my phone was indeed bluettooth capable to my phone!! Great reception, hands-free, voice commands are excellent. Would recommend this 1260 T for the value and great usage.
This has been our first GPS purchase. We've had Onstar for years and just purchased a new vehicle that is not Onstar equipped. So I got this for my husband for Father's Day/b/c we needed it. It is really cool. We've used it driving around for the past couple of weeks. I really love the features that allow you to find points of interest. Both my husband and I have Envy Touch phones and they both work with the blue tooth capability. It takes a little bit to load when you are searching and the keyboard being in alphabetical order and not like a regular keyboard does throw you off when you try to type on it. But we've been pretty happy with it so far. It'll be tested this summer when my husband drives across the country, I guess we'll really know how it works then!
I thought I wanted a large screen GPS, I was wrong this is great, especially with the bluetooth. It has everything I need, on or off the job!
I bought this unit to replace an older TomTom and I love it... perfect size screen and the very easy to assemble. I did not have problems finding resturant or stores that I needed. the price is hard to pass up for everything that you get..
This device has lifetime traffic reports but to do that ads come up. It annoys me because I don't live near any big city where I need the traffic updates. Other than that I would have given it 5 stars for overall.
Except for the excellent battery life, I am truely disappointed with this unit. I have an old Garmin which the company no longer makes map updates so I had to buy a new one. With the 6 million points of interest I could not find many stores and restaurants in my area by name. ( I live in a large town) I could enter the address, but who has the address when they are out on the road already? The instructions that came in the box was minimalistic at best, we had to figure things out as we went. The icons representing the points of interest is only visible on "map" view not "route" view which makes no sense! If you switch from route to map view to see what is around, you only get a snap shot of that area. While you can drag the screen around it takes an awfuly long time because you can only see the icons at the lowest magnification. The icons are plentiful on the mapsource on the computer but sparse onthe GPS. When you turn the unit on it "makes" you agree not to adjust the unit, but to change magnification or voulme you HAVE TO take your eyes off the road to find the touch screen arrow to go back to the home screen. My old one we could do it by touch because it had dials on the outside. We used it on a routine long distance trip recently and plotted us way into the boon docks, and on hilly winding country roads.(normally that would be an adventure but we were pulling a trailer so it was not much fun). In Garmins defense, we did not toggle "unpaved roads" as an avoidance. We found that later.
It is taking 2-3 minutes to load the route and every now and then in the middle of highway it says lost satellite connection and takes lot of time to communicate back to the satellite some times it takes forever and I need to restart the device
