I use Sweet Cola 30 even though it is thicker as well as the base color of the product is different it looks great and the same. I do notice the need to mix it with my hair color professional brush a lot extra in a bowl and apply it that way. You have to mush it extra for sure to get clumps out. If you use bottle, cut the tip lower for it to come out since it is thicker. If you use a brush llwith a bowl like the pros you will be better off.
I bought the new 42 after trying it for the first time 10 years ago and loving it. I dyed my hair with 42 at least once a year. But this time the product looked clay orange in the bottle and on my head. I'm not sure what changed in the formula but please bring it back!!!
I have been using this color brand for years and now it doesn't work. It was so thick I could barely get it out of the bottle. Then even though I leave it on longer to cover my gray hairs it didn't. They are more of a orange color
I recently bought in bulk 20 boxes of my color number 63. I have been getting compliments for 3 years About my hair color and how lush and gorgeous it is. I have to dye my hair every nine days because of the gray, so I use it quite frequently. I thought something was wrong with the particular batch of the die, so I died it again two days later with the same result. Near the roots it is dull, and does not look like it's been died. I will be switching to another brand and somehow want compensation for 20 boxes of hair dye that I will not use. I'm not sure I can return it. I am so so sad you switched the formula!
"Was" is the key word in that sentence. For, like, 20nyears I have used #42 Black Cherry/Deep Burgundy and it was gorgeous. Then I bought the same brand, same shade and now I am sitting here was orange hair instead of the gorgeous deep purple I wanted. I am getting a refund and I appreciate that, but now I am afraid to buy another one in the "new packaging" because I am not looking for bright orange.
OMG, I just reported this problem yesterday but now I'm shocked to see so many other people who have had the same BAD experience with this "new" #42. It came out of the bottle ORANGE (the white cream has never changed colors previously with the old formula while it was still in the bottle). My scalp turned orange. I freaked out and washed it out after a few minutes. Something is clearly wrong, and I doubt that it's isolated to just one lot number. This is so disappointing! I have been using #42 for about 8 years. I get positive comments from total strangers all the time. Some of my hair has become color resistant over time but I don't care if it doesn't color all of my grey. It has such a unique look that I'm sure people think I'm paying lots of money to get "highlights" in my hair. I will be looking to find as many of the OLD packaging that I can. The last photo I've added shows what it should look like on me... NOT ORANGE! They need to RECALL this product ASAP, IMHO! I'm surprised there's not a class action lawsuit yet. Somebody at Garnier is clearly color-blind. Please don't try to convince me that this is the same color as it used to be!
BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA OR CHANGE THE BOX COLOR TO WHAT IT REALLY IS!!! This is false advertising!! I have been buying this color for years and it was beautiful. I bought another one today and the color is orange nothing like you have represented on the box itself. Why would you change this formula if everybody loved it the way that it was? As you can see from the pictures attached, does the color in the bottle look like what you have represented on the box???? When I have bought this many times before the color in the bottle was almost black because it's supposed to be BLACK CHERRY not orange red!! I'm so unbelievably upset right now, you're going to lose customers by the thousands. Do you even sell this color anymore? If so, then send me the ORIGINAL FORMULA COLOR not this crap!!
#42 has been my go to for a couple of years and I get so many compliments! UNTIL the “New Ultra Crème” I wish I had read the recent reviews I wouldn't have CLOWN RED HAIR! I have no idea how to correct this and honestly embarrassed to go anywhere. CHANGE THE FORMULA BACK TO THE ORIGINAL!
What happened to the purple burgundy, black Cherry color? I used it for 15 years and received many compliments from strangers. It turned out orange! Not happy at all!
Ever since the formula was "improved", it has not worked well for me. I absolutely loved the results I got with the old formula. This new formula doesn't penetrate well and just leaves my hair yellow instead of a beautiful ashy/platinum shade as before. Photo !- new formula. Photo 2- old formula I used for years.
