This dishwasher is excellent and has a lot of room in the two main racks. The bottom rack allows for much taller pieces than I am used to being able to wash in a dishwasher. I also like the ability to run the cycle on the top rack, bottom rack, or both. The dishes come out so clean and sanitized.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! I have always been a "wash dishes before putting them in the dishwasher" kind of girl. When we purchased this my husband and I decided to try not per washing. We follow the dorection, scrap of crumb and then place in dishwater. Yesterday we had eggs with cheese, one of the things that NEVER comes of in a dishwasher. Well.... or plates came out crystal clean.... I'm Sold forever!!!! Love the bottle jets, the 3rd rack and the flatware jets. Best purchase I've made in a long time!
I loved my old GE dishwasher. The hookup on the new one was harder. (No direct connections, adapters were needed) I will need some time to get used to loading it. The baskets are a little different than my old one. It cleans well but doesn't dry very well. If you open the door right after the cycle ends, it can air dry. I do miss my old one, it was perfect.
Looks good, has plenty of features, works good but the the the hinges make this horrible whining sound every time I open and close it. I have tried greasing them, wd40 nothing works!
Have purchased GE appliances since 1968. Purchased this about 18 months ago. Over past 8 months stainless door is showing discoloration and rust stains. Stainless steel cleaner will not remove them. Dishwasher looks like it years old.
I'm not the biggest fan of dishwashers. I feel like it's a waste of money and prefer to wash them by hand but my wife insisted we get one. This model is ok, the dishes have come out clean but not completely dry. We are still testing it out to see what options are better to use instead of the normal option. A normal load takes about two hours to complete which seems high to me. Not sure why most dishwashers don't have a simple off switch, the start and cancel button are together and sometimes we get confused and get concerned if it'll start back up so we keep the door open when it's finished.
I'm satisfied overall with the features, how well it cleans my dishes and I'm really happy with how quiet it is. I also like that it has an adjustment for the dish rack to make it wider or more narrow, however, it doesn't stay in place securely. I am unhappy that a trim piece on the outside of the door at the top has broken loose and will have to be replaced.
Top rack for thin items( we use for silverware, tongs etc) derails frequently. Does not operate smoothly. Bottom rack ( plates etc)also derails too often. Bottom spinner hits something, I think the bottom rack, every time it goes round. Rinse aid dispenser is difficult to fill: a bubble forms, blocking the fill and causing the spill. Cleaning is good though.
Difficult to load dishes, three already chipped. Metal trim on door broken. Difficult to read display. Took 15 minutes to find how to remove the lock feature.
I would not recommend this dishwasher. Our last dishwasher was very functional and never had any issues. We only got this because it was part of a package we purchased from our design center for our new build. The top silverware rack leaves no room for a tablespoon. The design of the dishwasher is awful the bottom rack keeps collapsing on us. The door gasket keeps coming loose. We never had any issues with our previous dishwasher. It's a shame we have had issues from the first day.
