After some serious research, my wife and I decided on the GE Ultra fresh washer and matching dryer. So glad we did. They are loaded with modern features and wash and dry all our clothes, towels and bulky bedding items with no issues. You wont be disappointed in this GE set. Just buy it!
We bought this dryer and it's companion washer for our home in NY and we loved it! The venting system was exactly what we wanted and was as advertised. We then moved out of state and unfortunately we had to leave them behind, but fortunately once we bought our new home we replace the existing set with these same models. I am happy to report that we are still overjoyed with them and look forward to using them for years to come.
If you don't know what you're doing, changing the orifice to propane, you could mess a lot of stuff up! Generac has a switch on the valve which makes it simple and easy. The instructions are awful.
Our 23 year old dryer needed to be replaced (our same vintage washer broke) so I called our appliance repairman for a recommendation and he guided us to this GE. I've just done two loads and I am not overstating it when I say it's an amazing machine. There are as many cycle types, times, and settings as you could need. We also bought the pedestals and it's wonderful to have the drum at a comfortable height for a change. It's also got a Wi-Fi app to let you know where it's at in the cycle. Hugely helpful as it's in the basement and so quiet I can't hear it finish,
I would actually give it 4&1/2 stars if I could . The only thing I don't like about my gas dryer is the extended tumble is very short & just stops after awhile . However when I finally got to connecting the dryer to my Wi-Fi (very easy to do via the app) it alerted me drying was complete & now tumbling . It's a really nice dryer with lots of heat options. The filter is big and easy to clean out and put back . Without the handy app I'd give it 8&1/2 out of 10.
I'm not sure where to start, but I love this dryer! It's quite, it dries the clothes quickly and uses less electricity than my old dryer. This dry is also very easy to use. I also have the pedestal base for it and that makes it just the right height for me.
What an easy choice! The GE Washer we purchased has been simple to operate, especially with the option of filling the detergent dispenser and letting the machine decide how much to use. This means you can do a load of laundry before you've had your first cup of coffee, yay! We did read the manual thoroughly, of course, and discovered the ways we can keep our machine clean and running well for years to come. It's nice that the front drain is easy to access and the detergent/softener/bleach dispenser is basically a plastic drawer you can remove and rinse if any buildup occurs. The venting option is also handy to keep the machine fresh.
Great dryer, just wasn't expecting to install the power cable. Matched our GE washer in satin nickel. Great easy to use dial with the addition of a steam dry for wrinkled clothes.
The dryer is ok, very noisy though, sounds like the old electric dryers from 10 years ago. It does dry, has ok selection of cycles, steam option too. But I just don't like the model as a whole. Also, there is no glass in the door. I had to replace a cracked bezel, all the see through pieces are plastic, no glass there. Not sure why GE keeps saying it's glass. See pics.
When first hooked up kept arcing and blowing breaker.. found a piece of the inner dryer was not connected and laying on dryer exhaust causing it to short out. Electrician called her reattached the pert and now it works fine. Also the chrome trim arothe door already fell off
