Can't find these anymore in the store.
When Gillette carpet-bombed the US with their Sensor Excel razors back in the late 90s, I received two of them and they've been my favorite razor ever since. The types with four, five or six blades are awful in my opinion. The two-blade is perfect and works well for me. THe blades sold are imported from Asia I think but they are the same quality as the US made blades.
This is an old format. I got a free sample of the handle and a couple blades in my mail box about 25 years ago. I know there are formats with more blades now but these keep on working fine for my needs. While the 10 pack has never been this expensive I bought it anyway as it will last me for over a year. I have tried some store brand blades which are cheaper but do not last as long. But the cost per use is about the same either way. I got these as they were the only ones I could find on the web site for an online order. But is it likely I will continue to buy this product in the long term. Though it is approaching the point of price resistance.
This was a good cartridge in it's day, I've seen no need to switch to more expensive 3 or 4 blade cartridriges that claim to lift and pull the stubble. There has been a steady climb in the price of these 10-count packages over the years, though; and the box was manufactured in Brazil in 2000, so does that indicate they don't manufacture these anymore? I guess I'll switch to a safety razon when these finally become unavailable, or too pricy.
I have to order these blades because stores don't carry them anymore. Walmart sent 3 packs of blades (the combined size of a sandwich) in a 15 X 15 box that had been taped together many times. It was badly damaged upon arrival, but the small packs of blades were in tact in one corner of the huge box. I'm guessing it was a wild, busy shipping season during the holidays this year...
Theses are the best razors I have ever used.
After looking all over, this price for this quantity of blades was the best I could find. Free shipping sealed the deal. Only negative is the new shipping limit that has been imposed to qualify for free shipping, that will change my decision in the future.
I purchased this item because previous reviewers warned not to buy it unless they were "made in Brazil". I bought this item and it's stamped "Made in Brazil", but the blades are dull and don't provide a smooth shave. I've used five blades so far and all are dull and abrasive. I used to get wonderfully smooth shaves from the old Sensor blades, but I've tried blades from several sources and they all provide a substandard shave. I'm going to try "Harry's" blades next.
I am not happy. The packaging in the ad on Walmart website was not what not what I received. The packaging did not match. What I received is pictured in my review. I got my money back
