I normally don't write reviews which is a bit odd since I depend on them greatly when deciding things to purchase online. I was very back and fourth about wether or not to buy this Treadmill after reading some of the "not so great" reviews, but I am so glad I did!! It's perfect for me. I love the automatic adjustments with the incline. Just a push of a botton. The pre-programmed workouts are great!! And it's amazing what adding just a 2lbs weight in each hand will do to intensify your workout. It's not overly noisy, it's what you would expect for a treadmill to sound like. I can easily watch my favorite shows while working out. The only downfall about this machine is the display. It does not have any lights, so if you are not in a well lit room it is hard to see it. But that's not a huge deal, I just wish they wouldn't have left out such a simple thing that would have made this product that much better. If you are back and forth with the decision to purchase this or not, I say go for it!! It's a great treadmill for the price!! Good luck with all your exercise endeavors!!
Was pleasently surprised at how easy it was to put together. The graphics are good and like the hand weights that are included. My husband and I both have bad knees and can't really do any walking to speak of where we live so this is great. The different levels of incline and speed make it nice to change up, and the walking belt is very comfortable with some cushion to it. We have recommended this one to some friends and one of them have already purchased it and loved it also.
Did a LOT of research prior to purchasing this treadmill, for the price and the fear that it would eventually go unused, I picked this unit. Purchased for my wife to use since it's hard to get out to the gym with a newborn in the house. She seems happy enough with the unit thus far.
Don't expect to get a gym quality treadmill when you purchase this treadmill and you will love it! For a foldable, affordable treadmill, this one is great. It does speeds to the tenths and transitions pretty smoothly. It does stop rather suddenly though. To combat that I decrease the speed for a cooldown then turn it off when I get to 1 mph. The belt takes some adjusting every once in a while, but its easy to do. We put it together ourselves and it took about an hour in total.
Very strong and smooth from the motor to the belt. The control panel is easy to understand. The only thing bad I say is there is no back lighting on the LCD display. I added one with voltage from the panel and 2 super bright LED's. When your putting it together you have to pull a cable up the right hand frame it comes with a long wire tie in it so don't pull it out. You have to make a very sharp turn from the motor cover to go up so use that long tie to pull it in both holes. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we have been enjoying ours.
First off - what a bear to put together. My husband and I were able to get all the way to putting the console on without any big problems, but the console wouldn't fit. It took all the strength we had to put it on and hold it in place to screw it in (hint, put the top back on first and work your way down). It runs well, pretty quiet for a treadmill. Bottles of water work better than open cups in the place you can put a drink. Wish it had a fan like my previous Gold Gym treadmill, but overall, not a bad treadmill.
After reviewing treadmill after treadmill, I decided to order this one. I was looking at cheaper ones (in the $200 -$300 range) and learned that they were not conducive to running. I wanted a treadmill that could handle actual running for extended periods of time and this absolutely fits the bill. The incline is smooth and the speed is easy to change. It even has a magnetic key dead and center in case you need to stop the treadmill immediately. I definitely recommend this treadmill. It has several programs where you can utilize the weights! The only negative is that when I ordered site-to-store, they did send it to the wrong location but I decided to drive about 30 minutes to the store where it was sent to avoid too much handling. The store did give me a $15 gift card for my inconvenience, however. So overall, a good experience.
Came with good assembly instructions, only needed assistance on two occasions by my wife to complete assembly. Great unit for mainly walking, but would not suggest running or jogging even though it indicates it can handle that. Love the adjustability of incline and speeds in small increments.
We spent numerous hours putting the treadmill together only to find out that it was a lemon and would not turn on. Then we had to unassemble it, repack it, go through numerous email instructions, and then start the whole process all over again. The nice things about this mess were the courteous and friendly, helpful customer service agents I encountered. I was also not charged to ship the original treadmill back which both surprised and delighted me! Lets just hope and pray the second one is the charm! As for the actual treadmill, as far as I could tell, it is a very good one-well worth it's price. It seemed easy to understand as far as the console was concerned and had a fairly large walking surface. It seemed safe to me. Time will tell.
If I could give this thing a 0, believe me I would. Did lots of research before purchasing to make sure there wasn't anything better out there for the same price or cheaper. What sold me was the fact that it was a GOLD'S GYM treadmill. I read some reviews, some where from people my age/weight saying the product was wonderful and that they had no problems with it. So I decided to buy it and give it a try. I had this thing shipped to my house from Walmart.com. Two men lifted this heavy object into my house, the box looked in tact, overall I was happy. Three days later when I finally build this thing, when I finally go plug it in, the machine does a beep start up sound. So far so good. I stand on the treadmill and press "GO" and the tread belt does NOT move!!!!! I also noticed a foul burnt plastic smell as the machine was on for the first and last 20 seconds that it was on. After all that hard work and this thing does not work? It's a piece of junk. I called ICON, the manufacturer's company for repairs. They tell me that I need to remove the motor hood and check the motor out, Sure enough there is my problem. It seems to me that while it was being shipped, it was dropped because the motor was loose, the screws holding the motor to a metal piece were broken. If you are going to buy this junk, beware. I suggest you spend at least $1,000 for a beginners treadmill that has more quality than this. Oh and by the way, this junk is mostly plastic. Very easy to break. Please note: this treadmill is only for walking! not for avid runners. I hope this review prevents someone from making my terrible mistake. Now I am waiting for Walmart to send a Courier to ship it back because you cannot take this item back to a walmart store since it is an over sized object. The only thing keeping me happy is the fact that Walmart.com customer service reps were very courteous and I've already received my refund.
