Wonderful Deal!

Although they are lighter than they appear online, they are wonderful cribs. They seem very sturdy and can't be beaten for the price. We purchased two for our twins and love that they'll also serve as toddler beds and later full size beds. I personally think the wheels that are included are cheap and look tacky but cam easily be tossed aside-how many people regularly move furniture that you can just sweep under? All around a great purchase, just wait to purchase matching furniture as the color is on the light side of dark walnut.

basic crib, great bang for your buck

This is a good basic crib for a great price. I was looking for something that had fixed sides and was under $200 and this was a great find. It is listed as "coming soon" but I got mine within 4 days of ordering it, so it's available. It looks black in the pic, but it is really a walnut color, not too dark, but on the darker side. 3 mattress positions, converts to toddler, day and full. Spring platform. Very easy to put together.

I love this crib! Although we will have to see how it holds up once baby gets bigger. The price is great! I spent countless hours trying to find a good deal for a good crib, and I found it in this crib. The color is not too dark or too light. It is very sturdy as well. The crib would go well in a traditional nursery or a modern nursery.

Love this crib!

I absolutely love this crib. Its very sturdy and was really easy to put together. As others said, its lighter than it looks and has some areas where you can see the knots and imperfections in the wood, but I think that makes it beautiful and very natural looking. Its shorter than some other cribs, which I also really like. A beautiful crib and a great value.

The Graco Dakota crib is a much higher quality crib than I had expected for the price. The piece all lined up seamlessly and came together easily. There were no misaligned screw holes as is typical within this price range. In addition, the finished product is both sturdy and attractive. Overall this is a great product at a great price!

Eco-Friendly and Exceptionally Priced!

I am a first time Mama with a due date of 02/2011 so I have yet to actually use the crib. In addition, I have not yet purchased a crib mattress but plan to purchase the Sealy Soybean Foam Core Crib mattress. Therefore this review is solely based on the crib itself. I carefully read all the reviews before purchasing so knew the color might be different than what I had envisioned and that the crib would be a bit shorter in height than others. I did site to store shipping, got the crib in within 1.5 weeks of ordering and picked up at my local Walmart. The crib was super simple to put together and I am impressed with the overall color, style and simplicity of this eco-friendly crib. Again, I haven't actually USED the crib so I can't comment on that aspect of it. But based simply on the crib, its an exceptional value for what you are getting.

Very Nice but Color Is Lighter than Pic

The crib is nice and solid, and it wasn't hard to assemble with two people. In the online pic it looks almost espresso, but it is really quite a bit lighter and browner. I would buy this crib first before you buy any other nursery furniture so you can do a better job of matching the wood colors. It is an attractive crib for a reasonable price. The shipping box is 35 1/2 x 6 3/4 X 54 1/2", and it fit in the trunk of my Honda Civic with the back seat down (we used Site to Store for free shipping).

The color isn't as dark as it looks!

We haven't used the crib yet but my husband put it together. He was annoyed at times with the assembly but it was easy for him. So far, I'm pleased with the purchase - it is a good value. I did a lot of research before deciding to go with a stationary Graco crib. I was disappointed with the color though - the wood is not nearly as dark as the picture shows!

Good value despite ugly color

This is a pretty sturdy crib though it's not very big or bulky and in fact feels pretty light in the box. I appreciated the fact that it was made of wood after seeing some chintzy and very fake veneer cribs in the stores (even if it arrived with a few nicks and scratches and some uneven color). Requires a bit of patience to put together (though it's not difficult per se) because you have to use a tiny allen wrench sometimes through a two-inch gap between the side slats to get a screw in the right hole. The casters don't really lock and the crib can move around even if casters are in the "locked" position, and I'm not sure how to get them out now that they've been jammed in, so it's probably best not to use them at all. The crib also feels much lower than you might think from the picture/measurements because those include the casters. The real disappointment, though, was the color - kind of a medium golden 1970s brown that lacks any redness to make it rich. It's almost an, err, excrement brown. The pictures are completely off, and if you're expecting something lighter but still in the range of normal wood tones found in most furniture, you might be surprised at how blah the color actually is. Also, the Simmons baby mattress I had wasn't a good fit even though it's the standard 51.6 inches, there was definitely room for two fingers between the mattress and the crib. I'm ordering the Colgate Classica mattress instead as the reviewer before suggested that it fit well. Baby isn't here yet so I can't speak to how sturdy the crib is or how it holds up to jumping and moving around, but it seems to be sturdy (and it's too much of a pain to return furniture bought on mail order!) so I'm keeping it. But do try to open the box and peek at the color in the store if you can.

Defective

I read several reviews for this product before purchasing it, and found a couple that said it came with defective parts, but figured I would take a chance anyway, based on the other positive reviews. The crib arrived and the place where you drill in the screws is missing the threading on one of the sides. This not something I can easily fix, so now, with a baby on the way... I have to deal with returning this and purchasing a new crib. It is not worth the trouble. Don't buy this crib. Poorly made with no quality control check in manufacturing.
