I really like this monitor. The microphone is very sensitive. You can turn the video on/off easily. Great picture even in total darkness. It does have a 1-2 second sound/picture delay. The monitor is very adjustable, bends and swivels, so positioning is not a problem. The video and sound feed does cut in and out occasionally and takes about 15 seconds to come back, which can be annoying. You can zoom in, etc. but you aren't able to hear baby for about 15-20 seconds while the monitor resets. This is our second monitor (not happy with 1st one)and I think the video provides additional peace of mind.
It has a good picture for a video monitor and for being so small but the sound that you hear is delayed from the actual sound. I would be in the babies room adn snap my fingers adn then like 5 seconds later I would hear it on the monitor. I don't know that just was a little wierd for me. Also the camera you can only turn so far. We had our mounted on the wall and it caused some problems getting it to reach the crib.
We have owned this product for 11 months now. It was great in the beginning but it slowly began to develope issues and little "quirks" as time passed. It first started to "click" periodically on the parent unit. We would have to turn it off to reset the monitor. Then the picture would get "stuck" and just start rotating on the screen like one of those old picture films. So frustrating!!! There is quite a bit of static on the parent unit. There is also no way to mount the base on the crib, only on the wall. We ended up putting velcro on the bottom of the base and attatching it to the rail on the crib. You also only get about 1 hour on the battery life of the parent unit. When my daughter naps, she naps for about 2 hours and that's usually when I'm doing stuff around the house that I normally can't get done while she's awake. I really need a monitor that's going to last for longer periods of time while I'm doing chores around the house. Well, I put our daughter down for a nap today and tried to turn the monitor on and....nothing! It's completely dead! Even connected to the power cord, it's still dead! I would not recommend this product to anyone.
We were disappointed in the picture that came though the camera, not a crisp as the picture on the display. Might be that we live in a mobile home also. We liked the size and zoom feature.
I was awfully dissapointed with this product. The sound delay and very poor video quality is a bummer. It was a waste of time cause i had to go and return it and lost the money i paid for shipping and handling.
I hate this video monitor! I bought it bc my baby has reflux and I liked the "idea" of zooming in on her close up. However, you can't adjust the monitor once you zoom in, so if the baby moves in the crib... you lose site of them in "zoom mode". Also there is an "echo" or delay on it as well. AWFUL! You hear every sound or cough your baby makes 2x!!! Also... You can keep sound on and turn off the video but you CANNOT turn off the sound on it and just keep the video on. This is REALLY ANNOYING bc I can hear my baby in her room and sometimes you only want to SEE them and not HEAR every little sound they make! Don't spend the $200 on this product!
