Our daughter just turned four. She is very tall, but thin, for her age. She was too tall for her old car seat so we set out to find a booster/car seat that would work with her, as she grows. I didn't want to have to keep buying a new seat, every time she has a growth spurt. We really liked the look of this one and the design is really cute. I really love that this has a back on it. That makes me feel safer, for her, since she is only four. This car seat is actually designed for children that are three years old, and up, with a weight of 30 pounds and a height of 38 inches, or more, up to 100 pounds. And, when the child is 42 inches, or higher, and weighs more than 40 pounds, you can remove the back. I LOVE that the back comes off, that way, when she is older, we can remove it and just use the booster seat. She feels like a big girl, when sitting in it. It is very light weight and easy to switch from car to car, if needed. We own a pathfinder and it fits well in our middle and back seats. It does require some assembly, but the instruction are very easy to follow. The booklet also has pictures, for the assembly. Do you know what my daughter loves, the most, about this seat? The cup holders! There is a cup holder, on each side, of the car seat. She thinks that is pretty cool. This is also very durable. It survived our flight to California as well as the loading and unloading of it, with the luggage crew. The fabric is thick, too, and easy to clean. I took in into the manual car wash and sprayed it down with soap and water and it was clean as new.
This booster seat is perfect! Our 3 year old is pretty big for his age and outgrew his car/booster seat. We originally planned on him being in that until he was tall/heavy enough for the backless booster, so this find was great! It actually weighs WAY LESS, is WAY LESS CUMBERSOME to switch between vehicles, and provides MORE ROOM in the car due to its NARROW WIDTH. Now I can keep my 6 month old in the center seat and have my 3 year old right next to him. The cupholders make this my son's FAVORITE seat so far! I personally like it better than most because of the extra head padding it comes with (you can remove it if you want). That, and the fact that the back detaches leaving you with a great booster seat - complete with beverage holders! I am so glad my friend recommended this brand to me after she purchased it for her 4 year old. We actually bought 2 - one for my car, one for my husbands work truck!
We went through many Graco products with our kids and we loved them all. Now that our kids are not toddlers anymore this is one of the last Graco products we will be using. This was again a quality product which we like. Our 6 years old is using it and he loves it, too. The booster is sturdy and both us and our son like the padding on the back and head support. He also likes the bottle holders, two of them, which allow him to be independent when drinking or snacking in the car. We are happy that we will be using this car seat till our son will be 10, that’s a great investment on a quality product. The armrests were a hit with our son and he really feels comfortable during any, short or long, trip. Setting the booster up was easy and fast, you just need to know how the car belt should go through the car seat’s guides and make sure you check the manual to see how the belt should go around your kid. You should know that this is a booster, not a car seat and it does not latch to your car, it just sits on it. What keeps it on place is the weight of your kid and the belt which goes through it and finally latches on the car’s belt latch. In our opinion this is another great Graco product!
The Graco brand was a familiar one which has been around for many years and well recognized in the child seat market. It is rated well in the consumer safety information. This booster seat was primarily for a medium size 4 year old. The ease of assembly and clarity of the instructions was appreciated. The upholstery is pleasantly decorated, durable, comfortable and easily cleaned. It converts to a high back seat for trips when the child is likely to fall asleep and needs the comfort of the cushioned support afforded by the deep side wings. If the child leans forward to get something, then leans back, the seat belt slides back easily through the guide on the seat back to resume its proper position. The portability is such a plus. Being lightweight, it’s easy to move from vehicle to vehicle and fits securely in each one. The seat back height easily adjusts to accommodate your growing child. The backless booster seat is the favorite for short trips and enables our child to see outside and participate with the other children without feeling too confined. The 65 pound harness capacity will allow children to be harnessed longer and is a good option for heavier children.
To start, I got this booster free in exchange for an honest review. That being said I absolutely love, love, love it! "Why do I love it?" you ask, well my biggest reason for loving it is that my 6 year old (yes she's still in a booster, she's tiny ok!) can easily strap herself in and unstrap herself when we get to were we are going. However, that should be the case with any booster seat! But what sets this one apart, for me at least, is that the back support grows with your child. What I mean by that is that the head rest is adjustable to your childs height, and not only that but the slot that holds the shoulder-strap is part of the head rest. So when you adjust the headrest, the shoulder-strap is adjusted accordingly. Some other great features are that the armrests are adjustable as well, and when your child out grows the need for the back support it is removable. Finally the booster is beautiful to look at, which is why my little girl picked this particular pattern. I hope this review has been helpful! P.S. some assembly is required, but If I can figure it out so can you!
I am very thankful to receive the Graco HighbackTurboBooster Booster Car Seat for my review. I purchased a very expensive car seat for my Grandson when he was born. It was one that he could grow into and the safety features it offered seemed very good. The car seat served it's purpose but as he got older and heavier it seemed to fail in accommodating his growth ( like it said it would ) spurt. It became very difficult to strap him in and I know it had to be tight on his shoulders. When Walmart's Spark Reviewer list came out I had the opportunity to request a new, good looking GRACO HIGHBACK TURBOBOOSTER CAR SEAT. This was just what I needed. This car seat is attractive and offers many safety features. It is made for 3 year toddler up to a 10 year old child. The weight limit is from 30 up to 100 pounds. The head support and armrests are padded and adjustable so the child can experience complete comfort while travelling. I was impressed by the fact that the positioning of the car seat requires that the seatbelt to be looped through the adjustable headrest. Done properly the child's seatbelt is worn just like all other passengers in the car. The child's head is protected by padded side cushions. These cushions are made with EPS foam. This is a lightweight and resilient foamed plastic that is designed to cushion your child's head from any impact. I think this shows that Graco's design has nothing but the best interest of the child first and foremost. That means a lot to me, as a Mother and Grandmother. This product has met crash tests and safety regulations as set by the United States Government. It has a 4.7 out of 5.0 rating. I had mentioned earlier that this car seat is designed to attract kids as they are growing and getting older. I choose the one for boys. It's main colour is black with some grey. It has decorative colours in the form of dots in different sizes.The colours are some of the popular combinations I see all the time. Brown, Aqua blue, Chartreuse green in large dots with Orange, Gray and White smaller dots that bring the design all together. There is also one for girls with pink,white, light yellow, green and white. I also have to mention that there are 2 cup holders that are hidden away in the base of the seat. I love this feature as my Grandson always wants a drink and a snack after pre-school. The care and maintenance of the seat cover is simply. Cold water, mild soap, delicate cycle, then drip-dry. I'd say that's real easy and the car seat is light weight and easy to pick up in order to remove the cover. I also noticed that under the Youth booster seat, is a place you can put your owner's manual so it won't be misplaced. I like these unique, extra, helpful features. When the time comes to use just the booster seat, you need to remember that a lap and shoulder system is the ONLY approve method in order to assure complete safety of your child. The only difference is the child has out grown the benefit of the head cushions and back support. Your car should now provide those features. My husband assembled the car seat with very little problem. The instruction booklet is very clear and easy to understand. I am currently using this booster for my almost 5 yr old girl. So far she likes it. The head rest has a lot more cushioning than her old car seat and it’s positioned in a way that makes it more comfortable when she falls asleep in the car. The fact that you can adjust the height of the head rest is plus if you have a taller child. Mine is 42” and at the lowest setting the head rest is perfect. The back of the seat does seem a little wobbly when you are carrying the seat out of the car however that is due to the fact that you can later detach the backrest for just a booster seat. The only slight frustration I have so far with the seat is that the loop which you thread the seat bell through seems to be in a position which causes the seat belt to catch in a way that it makes it hard to pull the belt over to buckle it without having to first pull the seat belt out all the way and then buckle it and re tighten the whole seat belt. That makes this a little less efficient than it was when I just had to buckle a car seat harness. I am sure I will get more used to it thought. Overall this seems to be a very nice quality booster seat with many options as your child grows. The pull out cup holders are nice too.
The box that the seat comes in is fairly small and lightweight. It was great to see that there are only a few pieces to fit together, and I was able to easily assemble the seat with only a screwdriver. The fabric is thick and can easily be washed. The colors are bright and neutral. The seat could easily be used for a girl or boy. I like that the seat is adjustable to their height and that the arm rests are also adjustable and easy to use. You can take the back off when your child gets older. I did notice that the arm rest cushions can easily come off. It's minor but still inconvenient. The padding is rather thick and comfortable. You can tell that it is made of durable material. Overall, it's a good car seat/booster seat. It's nice to know that we will not have to buy another car seat for our growing girls. My 13 month old girls couldn't wait to try out their new seat and ended up fighting over it within minutes.
Very safe and lightweight seat. Easy to travel with (especially when flying). Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the latch that the seat belt winds into doesn't always hold the belt (with squirmy toddler). Otherwise, it's a great purchase!
I ready love the booster seat and even my son was excited to upgrade his seat. We where so disappointed when we the seat was damaged by delivery.
