I had given up long ago trying to find a fig cookie that matched the taste, texture and freshness of my mothers home made fig rolls, made with figs picked from a tree in our back yard. These fig bars are as fresh,tasty and smooth as I remember my moms fig rolls were. The multiple row packaging ensures the bars freshness. Also faster than expected delivery was very pleasing.
My mom love them.
I think these fig bars taste just as good as the name brand. My husband especially loves them and I put them in his lunch everyday. Awesome value as well.
Excellent, as usual, The Great Value Brand, is actually better and less expensive than name brands. These are soft, chewy good fruit flavor. Not at all flaky and lacking in fruit like others. Best we've had, and we've tried every brand of these, favorite snack in our house.
Loved these as a kid. Now Walmart has them at a great price with every bit of quality and flavor you'd expect from the big dog brands. The only down side is trying to catch them while they're in stock! You know you want to. Go ahead, click "add to cart". When you open these bad boys up with a fresh cup of coffee, you'll be so glad you did!
These are what Fig Newtons used to be. Gather 'round children, for a tale from the olden days. LOL No, seriously though, the name brand cookies have been reformulated several times and don't have the magic anymore. In my search for a replacement that tasted right, after more than a few disappointing purchases, these simple Wally store brand fig cookies ended up being It. I love them.
I am ex. military. Ive traveled the world. when I have Great Value Figs, I am very much impressed with the quality. Bravo 6 Out.
These Fig Bars used to be the best tasting Fig Bars, even surpassing original Nabisco Fig Newtons! Walmart must have changed suppliers as they are now a little on the dry side and there is much less filling then before. The original Nabisco Product is made with Whole Wheat Flour. These are made with Enriched Wheat Flour; big difference. The Nabisco brand is much healthier but drier than these. i still say 3 stars for these where The Originals are 1 star. But like I said, health wise, Nabisco is tops. Taste wise, these are better! Thank You!
Is it me or does my package say "contains Bioengineered food product" I don't see that online in packaging!!!? And the first time I purchased it didn't have that!!. I can deal with HfCS but not with this!!
These fig bars used to be exceptional but in the past 6 months they have fallen drastically in taste appeal-- perhaps a new secret baker-- but they have ruined these. They were $2.98 for 32 oz for a long time but increased recently [ 6-2016] to $3.13. Unfortunately the quality went way down before the price went up. The cake like coating is now dry and crumbly-- the filling is much more sugary tasting-- but read the ingredients!-- sugar +high fructose corn syrup + corn syrup+ plus honey + molasses -- maybe a fig in there somewhere among the sugar carbs. The package looks the same on the outside ...but the inside is not up to previous quality. i'd say avoid.
