in baton rouge there is no shortage of fish and types. however whiting is a good source of omega 3 and its just good. the fish arrived frozen with 4 fish in each bag. i let it thaw and prepared by removing scales. the fish insides are precleaned. though frozen it was fresh. skin clear and smelled like fresh caught. you will not go wrong with purchasing the whole fish. yummy!
I had no idea Walmart sold whole fish, but I stumbled across this. I prefer bone in fish over filets %26 this was perfect. I LOVE how they are frozen separately making it easy to portion them out for dinner. You also get quite a bit for the price and they're a nice size. I will most definitely be purchasing them again
People just don’t know how good these fish are, I think! 20 grams of protein, and just delicious. Sautee in butter

A few years ago this was not too bad. Now? it is a very strong smelling and very fishy tasting. Think of the smell at the seal habitat at the aquarium. I buy it for the dog since he has a poultry allergy and it is affordable. The two bags I bought were terribly freezer burned and looked like they were half freeze dried so I had to return them. I am pretty disappointed.
Still some fins and scales so be sure to double check each one before cooking
Whiting were substituted for the Croakers I ordered once before and I was disappointed. After preparing them they tasted freezer burned and not good. I ordered late at night awoke too late to change or disagree with the substitute. In future I will just come inside and buy the Croaker if available.
The fish was spoiled. Once cooked the fish smells bad.
Full of bones and doesn't taste good at all. I love fish, but this is not one I love.
Almost unfit for consumption. Just minow carcuses full of bones. Made the mistake of putting this in my pickup order.
