Great navy beans, love to use dried beans be sure to soak overnight. I put in crockpot the next morning with other vegetables and seansonings and we have a great meal.
Excellent quality and value. Too many times I hear that dried beans are too crunchy in the final recipe. Not so if you soak them for at least 8 hours and then throughly rinse before cooking.
Used these for making ham and beans and it was delicious.
These cook up in crock pot quite a bit quicker than great northern beans. They only take about 5 hours of course, they can then go longer and be softer. I also like this size bag as it works well in my smaller crock pot.
Navy beans are always good and buy several kinds of your favorite beans and mix them to your liking for your own x bean soup. Spam or any other meat goes very well in this also. We just made a batch of this with Walmarts spam and it is very good, way more than we could eat for 4 adults. If you use dried black beans in your soup it will turn your hole meal black. You can strain and wash it after soaking but you loose nutrition with it.
love dried beans, glad great value brand is available for online shipping!! I wish ALL great value brand food items were available for home shipping...i'm finding that only about 25% of great value items are available and you would think that Walmart would promote their own product more.
There were too many yellow (old) beans. I did not know how to cancel this delivery by Fed-X and this should not have been shipped. I only wanted home delivery from the store. My mistake
I was happy to receive these beans until I weighed them. All three packs were under weight. Two were 14.5 oz and one was 14.1 oz. I had a pack of red lentils that I purchased from Walmart when I visited my son in Pennsylvania last month, so I decided to weigh that pack. Guess what, it too was under weigh. It is 14.9 oz. A total of four bags all under weigh. I will find another source to purchase from.
2 of the 3 bags were old, not even good for 6 months from when ordered
This was a 3 package item of beans. Before I even opened the box I could hear beans rolling around in the box. One bag had come open and all of the beans were out of the bag and in the bottom of the box. I needed all 3 bags. Some of the beans had fallen out of a small opening in the bottom of the box. I now have to go to the neighborhood store and buy another bag, thus costing me more money, and time.
