I've owned this frig for over 2 yrs now without a problem. It is very quiet and stores a whole case of 12 oz cans. It even has a tray for ice cubes and a mini freezer compartment. This is perfect to save space in your regular frig or just a dorm frig. perfect as a mini bar frig too. Its size lets you put it about anywhere, mines in the bedroom. Just make sure you leave some space for the coils to cool. Also uses very little energy!
i got a haier fridge of the same size a couple years ago and broke it recently (by puncturing a freon tube in the freezer while using a hammer and knife to defrost, a bad idea) so i got this fridge, same size as the last but better designed, so theres more room inside, which is great. itll make ice cubes and keep cold. After 2 years of use, my first haier fridge was still going strong before i killed it, so i expect this one to have at least a good 3 year lifespan, which is totally worth the 90 bucks. I ordered the white one but they sent me a black one with stainless steel door which looks alot better than the white one so go figure. Conclusion: i wouldnt pay any more for a fridge this size, this model meets all expectations. Sidenote: make sure whatever you get has a freezer compartment, one time i got one of the glorified cooler models which is a box with a fan in it and wont keep anything cooler than room temperature.
I have it in my office to keep my lunch, soft drinks and water cool. very compact, quiet, nice looking.
I've had this fridge about 3 months. I have REALLY put it to the test. Its VERY quiet! I kept checking to make sure it was actually working. The freezer comes with 1 tiny little ice tray that looks like a child's toy, but, will hold 2 full size trays AND 12 full size ice cream sandwiches all at the same time. The ice cream was kept hard frozen only when the thermostat was set to COLDEST, but the milk and lemonade was frozen too. (The frozen lemonade was GREAT!) I adjusted the setting so the freezer will keep ice cream AND make ice cubes w/o freezing stuff in the fridge. Now, I only keep about 4 ice cream sandwiches at a time, and All Is Well!
I can fit around 40 12oz. cans of Bud in this thing without using the little freezer section! Some will be laying on their sides, but so what? I've got this sitting under one of my computer desks right next to where I sit. Beer is never more than half an arms length away! Like Tony the Tiger it's GRRRRRRRREAT!
I use it to store breast milk. Well, the door has a small dint and the paint on the front is already peeling in a few spots. It's pretty quiet and gets very cold. I ordered the all white but got a black refrigerator with a white door. It still looks nice and gets the job done.
I used one of these for about 3 years in college. It worked great for storing drinks, but that's about it's limit. The tiny freezer part can hold maybe 2 average sized microwave meals and a touch more. Take-home containers pretty much filled up the entire mid shelf. Plus the temperature would fluctuate a fair amount. Water based sports drinks would freeze instantly where as soda would be fine. In short, as long as you primarily use it for drinks, it's great. If you plan to store food and all, you may consider something a little larger. The added capacity should help keep the temperature more even. Oh, one other note, expect a fair bit of heat from this little guy. All the sides would become nice and toasty. Great as a little additional heater, not so great in a small room with little AC :P
It looks good. The size is good...but it makes more noise than an average kitchen size refrigerator. The tempreture doesn't meet its expectations. It's too cold and freezes items at the top but stays warm at the bottom. And it melts and drips water from the freezer container.
Until the manufacturer realizes the value of a few cents worth of any protective packaging inside the cardboard box, I'm sure LOTS of people will simply return their damaged-delivered products for them to either fix, strip for undamaged parts, or simply throw away...and without being able to keep any of the corresponding sales revenue. Mine came with dents on 3 sides and a bent/damaged water line in the back in a cardboard box that was torn apart, all because there wasn't any protective packaging. Consequently, I have no idea how well the product supposedly worked.
I used this product as my personal office fridge, for lunch, drinks, etc. I purchased this on Oct 07 and the fridge stopped working on Jun 08. Haier replaced it under warranty on Jul 08, this replacement unit has now stopped working AGAIN (Nov 09)! Haier will not replace since it's out of warranty. So I asked the rep if Haier products are no good and he said "that's your opinion". Hmmm.. you tell me.
