I love that these kits come with everything you need for a fun painting craft with kids! The paint for the suncatchers is good quality and comes out with really pretty shades that are nicely translucent to let the light shine through. The mix of different flowers and butterflies were more artisticly done than the suncatchers from when I was a child. I'm really impressed with how well they turned out, and it was so much fun for my kids!
This kit was a fun quick project to do with my kids. The paints it comes with are really pretty. They sit nicely in the sections of the suncatchers but if they do get mixed into the space together they have a sort of tie dye effect that I love. There are 4 flowers and 4 butterflies, each with a different pattern. The paint is pretty thick so it took several hours to dry. The first layer we put on was lighter than I liked so once it dried I went over them with another layer. I think the end result is cute, especially where pink, blue and purple were put together in the same space. This does include suction cups and string to hang them. The string is similar to fishing line, it's very slippery. We just put them on the hooks of the suction cups and it worked fine.
I enjoyed painting this set of Hello Hobby Flowers & Butterflies Suncatchers with my granddaughter, fun as always. The kit comes with all the fixings: Directions; four butterflies of varying shapes and sizes as well as four flowers of varying shapes and sizes; eight suction cups; thin nylon cord to attach suncatchers; paint brush; six pots of paint in the colors of pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple are quite beautiful and vibrant. I recommend using an old piece of cardboard or something hard like that as the workspace, I used an old bin lid (I happen to keep the old ones because they come in handy when doing crafts). Using something to transport them on is key if you need to move them as they will need to lay flat for 24 hours to dry. The painting was easy, I load the brush and let the color drop into the specific section. I load as far up to the rim of each section without going over to give it a deeper tone. Did this method and did not run out of paint, still had extra. I went color by color so I didn't end up contaminated a pot with another color. I wiped the brush off with a paper towel before using a new color. I stay away from dipping in the water as I feel it's too easy to water down the paint. Paint wipes off quite easily. Was an enjoyable afternoon crafting, we took our time and gabbed along the way. Happy memories in the works. Yes, I do recommend this as a fun crafting activity.
The paint was washable, and the activity was less messy than I imagined. The girls finished 4 pieces each in about 20 minutes. So it is not an activity that takes up a lot of time. I used it with a 3 and 5 year old. They both really enjoyed it.
Hello Hobby Glowers and Butterflies is a great kit. The plastic suncatcher pieces are nice and study. Each piece is detailed and lovely. The paint included is a nice gel like paint the colors nicely. This is a great project kit for little ones to paint. The pieces can be hung on glass with the suction cups are strung with fishing line to make a hanging. Your little ones will love it.
I'm so glad I got these. My kids love to make these as gifts for grandma on Mother's Day. A little paint goes a long way. I'm impressed, these suction cups actually work. I've bought others in the past that fail, and my kids were so disappointed, not these!!
My 3 year old and 6 year old loved painting these! The butterflies and flowers were all different patterns which was fun, and they came with everything you need from painting to hanging them on the window. The colors are fun, and I was surprised that even the 3 year old was able to successfully paint them. So fun on a Rainy day. The only problem was that I didn't think about the acrylic paint not being washable. They did ruin my boys clothing :(. So don't be like me, and put a smock on or old clothes.
Great for kids and tweens. My 12-year-old daughter love these. She likes being able to choose what colors to paint them. Her younger brothers like them too. Everything they needed was in the kit.
These are perfect for young kids. The designs are cute and the paint colors are appealing. They come with suction cups and string, so once they are painted and dry, they have everything they need to hang with. The paint cups are a little tippy, so plan on putting them up with a block or stick them in some play dough to hold them up. Fun project!
This was a fun activity that I shared with my grandson. He loved picking out the colors and designs. He was really excited to see his finished work hanging in my window. Wish the paint was a little thicker, as some of the colors took a lot of paint to show. Also containers need to be a little larger, to make sure there is enough color for all the designs.
