I love how creamy this spreads & how well it stays put! I thought I heard from a famous make up artist that it was discontinued. When I saw it available, I jumped at the chance to get it. So glad I did. I like it better than my urban decay one actually!
I do love the colors of the NARS eyeliners, but I've had quite a few of this one, and every "lead" (for lack of a better term) breaks deep inside the pencil, so you have to sharpen down 1/2" or so to get a point again, wasting a good chunk of the pencil.
Your previous eye liner was perfect and I used it for many years. My color was initially "Parrot Cay" and then Barrow Street when Parrot Cay was discontinued. The liner had a nice creamy texture, always made a thin line, and the colors were magnificent. When you sharpen a pencil the liner tends to cake on the first time after sharpening and the point is never as thin as the roll-up liner. When you discontinued my Barrow Street I searched the Internet and Stores for a similar color and there are non to be had anywhere. I am stuck with white if I want to continue wearing my black eyeliner with a thin light line above the black. Please bring the old line back. If needed add the new to the old line, but restore our favorite liner, please!
Pencil was completely empty. There was no eyeliner inside the pencil. I thought maybe the tip had broken off and sharpened the entire thing. Nothing! Won't be purchasing again. This isn't the first time I've had issues. I decided to give it another chance but it was a mistake.
The pencil leaves pieces in my eyes, sinks back into the pencil so you have to keep sharpening it, and is impossible to sharpen because of the plastic surrounding the part you are trying to apply to your eyelids. I had the type of pencil where you rolled it up from the bottom, but this is not that tight and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to sharpen it. It's basically useless
The tip of the pencil came off & there is no way I can advance more of the pencil. The cap on the end if the tube does nothing but turn. I took the cap off & there isn't anything I can turn to get more of the eyeliner to push up A total waste of money. I called customer service and got no where.
It's funny reading the NARS explanation for the changes because 1) I never experienced the issues they claim yet 2) I agree with the heard of people who have listed everything that's wrong with this new product. From the crazy effort it took to open the cap, to the flat tip it already has. I would have given this a try, but I sharped a sample pencil once that was made exactly like this and I KNOW how difficult that was to do and the sharp pieces that remained. These pencils costs too much for that mess and I don't trust that it will function for long. Listen to the feedback, NARS. You just lost my eyeliner business.
I was excited about this purchase. Used it twice, then realized, how do I sharpen it? The pencil housing is made of plastic. I can't easily sharpen it with my sharpener. I don't think I should have to purchase a new sharpener specifically for this liner. That would categorize it as a scam. It's disappointing. Would you recommend anything else besides selling your sharpener?
I like the texture and color BUT I am unable to get the tip to come out to use again once it was worn down. The end does not turn and the tip does not turn. I tried pulling, pushing, turning. It shouldn't be this hard to get a new tip on the eyeliner. Could I have a defective product? This is frustrating.
After using "Larger Than Life Long-wear Eyeliner" for years, I purchased this (hoping it would be the same). It's not the same - not even close! After only using it twice, it already needs sharpening (and of course Nars doesn't include a sharpener). The twist-up on the "Larger Than Life Long-wear Eyeliner" was so much easier, the formulation held up more than 2 uses, and lasted 10x longer on my eyelids. Why do you have to mess with a good thing? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! I'll be returning this immediately, and since there are no alternatives, I guess I'll be looking for another brand.
