We run a wood burning stove in our home and we needed some sort of humidifier. We have had quite a few come and go in our house, usually the problem was with filters wearing out. This humidifier is an excellent buy. We have had it at least three years now, and it is just now needing a new filter. I bought it because the the convenient filter gauge in the front. It is true to get any moisture into the air you need to set it on high humidity, but for the price it is a great deal. I fill it everyday due to our frequency of use, but you would have to with any other humidifier. When handled with care and respect it will last and give you many years of use.
This product is perfect for a bedroom/living area. i run it non stop on low during the day and medium at night and only fill it once every night. ive had it for 3 months and havent had to change the filter yet. GREAT
I am quite satisfied with this humidifier, it's quiet and workd very well Did I mention I am extremly fuss too
I use this product every night in my 4 month olds bedroom. I like it because it doesn't get the carpet or furniture wet. It puts out a cool moist air.
I bought 2 so I didn't have to worry about 1 unit servicing my 3 room apartment. Both units are working fine and seem to be doing exactly what I bought them for. A comment to the person who said the handle broke, perhaps handling the tank with a little care using both hands and not to carry the tank like a suitcase would have saved the handle from breaking off. For $30.00 it is perfect. On the other hand if I paid $150.00 for it and my handle broke and it dropped to the floor and was distroyed I might have been agitated and wrote a bad review. But that not being the case it's GREAT.
Compared to an older Holmes model that we have used ,this model was a disappointment because it was a lot noisier.
We bought this humidifier for my daughter who lives in an apartment building with people who smoke. Works Great, except when it came time to change the filter we "cannot" find one anywhere. We have look at all the hardware stores, Menards etc. and all the Walmart type stores and have not found one it stock. The only place I found the filters is on the actual Holmes website, thus having to pay $15.00 plus tax and shipping. I would "NOT" of bought this product if I knew it was going to be so hard to get the filters, especially having to order them off line now!
I used this product for a year and it functions well. You can take it apart and clean it when you put it away for the summer. I was disappointed with the quality of it when I filled the water tank and was carrying it to the bedroom when the handle broke off, the tank fell and broke on the floor--spilling all of the water onto my bedroom carpet.
Looks good on the review and everything but not that good. you have to fill water every nite and not effective at all. Try something else. I used honeywell last time i think i'm going back to honewwell again. on the product specitication says it last up to 48 hours but that's only true if you keep on low. on low you won't be able to dehumidify your room. you have to keep on high.
This, and many other Holmes humidifiers, has a plunger valve at the bottom of the water tank to control the flow of water to the filter chamber. It deteriorates from the chemicals in the water and you can not buy a new valve or cap; you must buy the entire water tank. You might get a year out of it. This is poor engineering and cheezy marketing.
