I have knots it my shoulders all of the time. That is where I carry my stress day in day out. I love having time to relax w/ the massager and the tv remote in my hand! Best part of my day after getting the kids to bed! ;) I did expect improvement w/ my cronic knots however have noticed no improvement. Not as good as going to my massage therapist but great for relaxing at home after a long day!
It's great on your lower back if you have to stand all day and it's great for your neck and right above your shoulder blades if you have to sit infront of a computer everyday. I would recommend this to everyone who doesn't have a significant other to massage them. Also, gentlemen this is a great gift idea for your wife or girlfriend if they're always demanding for a massage in the evening. :)
I gave this pillow as a gift and they love it. My mom says it took the tension out of her neck. The heat helped alot too. She uses it every evening and says its great!
I had this in my home over the holidays and let family members try it. As a result, at least two other pillows were bought. THis is a great product and easy to use, even for my dad who is in a wheel chair.
The massager was perfect to use to pinpoint areas of the body that is cramping or just sore. The balls penetrate deep into your muscles. THis is the best product I ever bought.

I have fibromyalgia and back issues. I had previously purchased (and returned) a shiatsu back massager for use in a chair. Unfortunately, the only real place the chair-type could be used was in a desk-like chair. I was looking for something to use on the couch. This product is phenomenal...worth every penny. The heat option is nice, as is the auto shut-off. I recommend highly.
With a recurrent cervical strain that causes neck and shoulder pain, I wanted something that would provide easily-positioned massage and heat that wouldn't require holding. This almost fit the bill. The shiatsu massage is a deep massage that I had to position carefully to work on the tense muscles but not hit bone. The pillow is thick enough that positioning it just right was a challenge; I finally had to put another pillow under the small of my back to be able to lean against the upside-down shiatsu pillow with just the right amount of pressure. The heat function is just warm. The built-in control switch is a bit tricky to hit. The auto-turnoff is probably a good idea but distracting when I'm just starting to relax. Even with those problems, this is the best solution to my pain that I have found. Once I got into position, even after it automatically turned off I was able to restart massage and heat without moving. I wish it was a little thinner (to be easier to position) and the heat got a little hotter. It took about an hour, but finally I had no more pain. And that made it worth the money.
I also have the HoMedics Therapist Select Shiatsu Plus Massage Cushion With Heat. The massage of this product feels harder and there is less heat. I bought the massage pillow to massage my neck and upper shoulders. It does work, but you have to be careful of how hard you lean into the pillow. If you are easily bruised, put a towel between you and the pillow. It would be nice if you could adjust the distance between the rollers.
This pillow works for people who are looking to ease their back pains and to promote better blood flow but the fabric used to cover the 'knuckles' tend to get tangled with the mechanism thus creating a jammed. Suggestion is to incorporate a zip to the side of the pillow so that if a 'jam' occurs, the user can unzipped the product and manually freeing the jammed fabric inside.
