This product has the radio, the nature sounds, a clock with the display on the wall or ceiling and everything one should need to either put you to sleep or to wake you. All rolled in to one small compact!
If one is a day sleeper, this is the product for you. It helps me sleep better, since there are a lot of distractions in my locality.
It takes up very little space on a night stand and has all the features you need. It was easy to set up and easy to figure out all of the features. The only drawback is that the light for the clock is either dark or has three settings and the first setting is brighter than my old clock but it's not a big deal. I really love this clock and the price.
I love this product - going to sleep to the sounds of nature is the BEST!!! Being able to see the outside temp and inside temp on my ceiling is cool !!!!
This is my second sound spa, my first one didn't handle a plan flight too well. That should tell you that I take it with me when I travel. This model completely out does the others, with it's atomic clock and indoor/outdoor temperature guide it's awesome.
It does everything I wanted. Plus its blue! It will pick up the outside temp from quite a ways away through my basement walls too. You can turn off the ceiling and face time lights if you like also.
The only downfall of this product is the volume control. The alarm and the different sounds are all controlled with the same volume dial. I pushed the button for rain and adjusted the volume low so I could listen to it as I fell asleep but when I set the alarm to see what it sounded like, I could barely hear it. I turned up the volume so I could hear the alarm in the morning but there's no way I could get to sleep with the rain at that setting. Oh well. It's still a good product. The outside temperature feature is great.
The only requirements for the sound machine I wanted was that it play the sound of crickets on a summer night and thunder. This machine has those and 4 other sounds. A feature I was not looking for but absolutely love is how it projects the time and temp onto the ceiling. That is the first thing I see when I wake up. And it is large enough for me to see without my glasses on. That is always a plus. Great product!
The SoundSpa is close to what I wanted. By reading previous reviews I thought it was exactly what I wanted. My only issue is that I wanted realistic nature sounds to sleep to. These sounds have a "tinny" man-made quality to them that loop almost immediately over and over. It takes the realistic feeling away and actually becomes a trifle nerve-wracking. I am impressed enough with the other qualities of the system to keep it, but the reason I bought it for is lacking. I do use it at night, but if I don't fall asleep within 30 minutes or so I have to turn it off. It just becomes fingernails on a chalkboard after that.
This item was returned by me within a few days. I did not like the display on the ceiling as it gave off a lot of light all over the area. Actually acted like a night light! I did not like the fact that when I set it to wake to music, it shut off after only 30 minutes. I had been using a clock radio that stayed on for nearly 2 hours. The sound machine options stayed on for up to 90 minutes but that was not needed for me. So being I did not like 2 important things, I needed to return the item and go back to the old one I had been using. Shopping at Wal-Mart.com was a great way to get this. I have done this before with great results.
