I first bought the iHome for $44 and found it kind of cheap, and as an alarm clock, wasn't the greatest. Bought the sound spa and had my doubts. It didn't work right away with my iPod but quickly found out I needed to update my iPod version. Once I got comfortable with all the buttons, I really started liking this alarm clock. My favorite feature is the Nap button, where you can quickly set a time 15,30,45,60 to wake you up from a quick nap without changing your actual alarm times. Even the sounds are pretty good. Unfortunately, I tend to listen for when the sound 'loops', so instead of relaxing, I focus on the loop. (if that makes any sense) So one of the sounds -waterfall- that I initially thought was horrible, ended up being my favorite because its a constant soothing noise. Doesn't really sound like a waterfall though....more similar to an air conditioner running, or the hum of an airplane.....maybe white noise. :) My only semi complaint is the display being rather bright even on the lowest setting. It kind of acts as a night light on the highest setting and illuminates your night table on the lowest. Not a horrible thing I guess. Overall, good sound, easy to use and set alarms. The tuner on the radio kind of stinks but if you tune up or down a notch from what your used to, it works fine. Wish it came in something other than white. Faceplates are cool, but I don't think I will ever be changing it from black.
This product is the best i have had it for a week or two now and i have not had one problem!!!! I didnt even need the directions to figure it out. and it even has a cord so that if you have a ipod shuffle or a friend has an ipod shuffle then you can listen to it. It is great. I would HIGHLY recommend this product. And it is very VERY resonably priced!! The alarm clock is awesome also with all of its sounds you can choose from. I love this product!!!!
I bought this for my daughter and was a little skeptical after reading some of the reviews. I am really glad we ordered it. My daughter loves it. She really likes being able to set her alarm to her favorite song on her ipod and she goes to sleep with the nature sounds. The nature sounds are very good compared to similar product that my parents own. For the price it is very good and easy to operate. Of course it isn't like an expesive Boze, but it is better than I expected for the price.
I was looking for an iPod dock/speaker system to put in our newborns room that would support my old 3rd generation iPod (it has a bad battery but was perfect for this usage). I found this one through a web search and then found the best price at WalMart.com. I have been more than pleased. The sound is great and the sound machine (ocean, waterfall, rain, etc.) has been invaluable for helping our baby get to sleep. The look is good with clean lines and it has face plates to match your iPod (although we kept the silver one on to match her room). It is incredibly easy to use. The clock back light is a bright blue (even on low), but we use it as a night light too. In all, this was a perfect unit for our use and at half the price of the competitor's like models. The only bad part is that it doesn't come with the dock converters in the box, but there is a 1-800 number to call and the customer service reps are very helpful and friendly and they'll send you out any ones you need (I have multiple iPods so requested the converters for each style: 3rdG iPod, 2ndG Nano and iPod Classic). It even has dual alarm clocks if you need them. Very pleased overall. Would recommend to anyone for baby, kid, dorm or bedroom.
I was concerned when I first removed it from its package, as the power cord appeared not to work. I fiddled with the connector in back, and it now works fine. I think the contacts were not engaged. The sounds are soothing and wonderful, as they should be. The speakers will not overly impress your guests, but are very functional. The iPod dock is just fine, and color flexibility is a novelty; we will likely only use the silver face plate.
I was looking to replace a standard alarm clock, and this one seemed to fit my needs. Pros: - Great sound, looks good, good value - Dual Alarms are nice - Connecting and using iPod super easy - The soothing sounds are really nice, too. Cons: - The blue light from the clock is BRIGHT, but it can be turned off. The blue also seems to be the new thing in clocks like this, so it may be unavoidable. - The buttons 'click' very loudly. Not a huge deal, but, for example, my husband gets up first and turns off the second alarm. The buttons click so loud when pressed that it wakes me up anyway. - This is just something that bugged me, but it wouldn't stop me from buying another... The dual alarms have to be set on the same thing. So you can't set the first one to the soothing sounds, and the second to the iPod, for example. Both have to be set to the iPod, or the sounds, or the radio, etc. Overall I think it was a great purchase and would recommend to anyone!
I like this product because I can match it with my iPod, besides listen to music I can listen to different sounds. It is a very nice product
I love this product, although it took me some time to get used to it. The sounds are great, the colors match perfectly, and it looks nice on my nightstand. However, if you are looking for something to play music on a regular basis (besides as alarm clock) I don't reccomend it. The speakers are terrible. Other than that, it was well worth it!
I purchased this radio for my desk at work for the radio option and playing my ipod. I was not happy with the quality of the radio at all. Stations would not come in and if they did, they didn't stay tuned very long. My clock kept resetting to 1:00 randomly and my stations would not stay set overnight. If you only want to play your ipod, then this is a great product for you. But, if you are purchasing for the radio function as well, save your money.
Features and value are this product's strengths. However, the display on the clock that I ordered began to malfunction after a week. I ended up ordering the Isound clock as a replacement and am very happy with it. And I do not find it to be too bright as others have mentioned (it has three settings to adjust brightness).
