If your needs are mostly recreational but still would like a little bit of home backup for emergencies; this is a great generator! You can sure buy one much more powerful for the same money but the quiet operation, portability, and clean inverter power is great and definately has a value. I bought mine for my Airstream travel trailer, runs a portable A/C unit(7000 BTU), lights, TV, mini fridge etc. with power to spare. I'm sure the similiar Honda 2000i is top of the line, but I saved hundreds of dollars buying this comparable Honeywell. Mine starts on about the 6th to 8th pull and I can live with that. The pull cord is very smooth and easy, so if that is a concern due to physical limitations; don't worry. Does weigh about like a "super stuffed" large suitcase, though. Runs forever on a tank of gas. If you have money to burn or need a generator for daily work use, I can see going with the Honda. But otherwise, buy this Honeywell! I could be picky and rate it 3 or 4 stars, but I love a great value! I can't help but give it 5!!!
This unit does everthing as described and is very quiet. I was sceptical after reading all reviews about starting problems.I do not have any problems starting this generator "follow all directions and it works great".Runs all of my electrical consumers in my camper,a/c,microwave,fridge,tv.
This inverter generator is everybit as good as the competitions generator that sells for hundreds more. I had the privelege of camping next to a fellow camper who had another brand and he was amazed at the performance and durabililty of this Honeywell unit. So if you are in the market for a generator give this one a look, and compare for yourself. Great features, easy to start, quiet, and it delivers.
This is a great little genny for the price, read a lot of bad reviews on other web sites, but read a few here at wal-mart.com and decided to buy it. This little gen is very quiet and runs very well. Most bad reviews complain about hard starts, well I have not had one yet, also they say it needs a full tank of fuel to start, not really true either. The Carb on the gen sits high and its gravity feed so, you need to prime the carb, two ways to do this, fill the fuel tank all the way-up, pull a few times with choke on, eco mode off, and it should start on the 3rd or 5th pull. Starting for the first time without a full tank of gas can also be done, simply tip the genny back until the exhaust is facing down towards the ground, choke on, eco mode off, gen swith to off, with the gen still tipped up pull 3-5 times to prime the carb, then sit the gen back down, choke on, eco mode off, turn gen to run, pull the chord and it should start on the 3rd or 5th pull. Ive been running the genny all day, no problems never stops unless i let it run out of gas, looks great also, and I like the breaker switch. Great buy, great price, would buy another.
This generator is exactly what I ordered and expected. It does everything as advertised and definitely would recommend.
This is the best, way cheaper than a honda, but about as quiet. Love the efficiency throttle, which runs the engine at only the speed for the load. runs lots of things, will run a full size 30 cu.ft fridge and microwave at the same time, runs forever, and easy to do routine maintenance on because of panels that remove with one screw. Starts with 1-2 pulls, and is a welcome addition to my power tools group.
I used this generator on my 5th wheel while towing it over 3000 mile on a recent vacation. It was very quiet and worked better than I ever expected. I had no idea Honeywell even made generators until being turned onto this product by a co-worker. I would recomend this generator to anyone that needs portable power at a great price. It's fuel efficiency was an added bonus. I look forward to getting alot of use out of this generator.
When I got my new Honeywell I added oil, gas and with the choke on it started with the first pull. Thats no lie. I new it was not going to be as quiet as the Honda's but very much softer noise level than my Coleman sportsman 1850 , for the price of $450.00 it was well worth it. The econo switch makes it run slower and more quiet I recommend this product. You can see my review on youtube under Honeywell generator.
Nice, quiet, and start's right up! A little heavier than expected, but very solid, and stays put vs walking off while running. The automatic fuel saver mode does its job as well. When using at home, my neighbors didn't even notice.
Do not buy this product because it has the Honeywell name on it. It is not a honeywell product in any way. I bought my generator because of the Honeywell name and price. It ran for 20 minutes and then stopped running. ( no spark ) no warranty service in my area of the country that I can find. Learn from my experience and check on available warranty service in vour area before you buy this product
