This is the best hand vac with the removable 18 Volt Lithium Ion battery that will keep taking a full charge unlike the rest of the hand vac manufacturers that have NiCad batteries that stop taking a full charge within 6 months of use. The Hoover is extremely powerful and very easy to use. The only drawback is that it does not come with a way to mount it to a wall for storage; however, I have found a large hook that serves well as a hanger for the unit.
The Hoover Platinum Linx Hand Vacuum is an excellent product. Like it promised, it is powerful right to the end of battery life. This is a pleasant contrast to traditional hand vacuums that last a minute or less then go into a lower power mode. It is able to pick up material on the floor with ease at a further distance than other models. It features an LED showing battery life that remains. You wouldn't know otherwise as it remains powerful up to the end of the battery. It lasts quite a long time as well - 10-15 minutes easily on a charge. Only complaint is lack of mounting system. Mounting it on a wall would be desirable to keep it out of the way.
Good Hand Vac but it makes a smell now because i think the filter stinks overall still great!
This hand vac works great - has good suction and is lightweight and handier that taking out my Hoover upright. It works great to vacum off the lamp shades and the attached nozzles are very easy to use. I just love it!!!!
What a great hand-held vaccuum! Super power, good features, removable battery for more convenient recharging. Slso purchased the stick-vac version, equally great--shares the same battery, so 1 charging stand works for both. Each machine feels powered like a plug-in model. Really does the job for us!
THis little hand held is great for the little jobs. Window sills, corners, keyboards, etc. Great power and easy to empty dirt cup. High recommend.
I just bought the Hoover Platinum hand vac after doing my research. While it does have good suction, a few design flaws make this vac just OK. The dirt cup is very hard to grip and twist open. No grab handle and the plastic is slippery. It is a 2-handed job and a challenging one! I am assuming the cup will twist open much more easily as I use the vac (I sure hope so). You have to clean the filter after each use. I actually use my other Hoover to help clean it before rinsing it out. The crevice tool flips up and locks into the vac nozzle. To use the dust brush you pull it towards the tip until it locks in place. Sometimes the crevice/dust brush don't lock into place and when you fold it under the vac when you are not using it, you have to take a moment to make sure it snaps into place, or it will be hanging down. My daughter has a Black and Decker hand vac which is less than half the cost of the Hoover LinX. It is easier to empty and has a wand that pviots to allow for cleaning at many angles when needed. The B & D is a better value and easier to use. The Hoover has a hefty price tag and I expected better design.
I don't know how people have given this 5 stars. They must have reviewed it as soon as they received them and used them just a couple of times. After just a month or so this vacuum is useless. It won't even pick up a piece of HAIR!!!! It spits debris back out after you think it's suctioned it. This is seriously the most overpriced piece of junk I have ever purchased. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on this. I have a 15.6 V Shark hand held vacuum for my downstairs but figured this one would be good for our upstairs where there is more traffic. HUGE disappointment!
