Great Vacuum Cleaner

I got this sweeper for my mom for Christmas. After 25 years of the same sweeper, it was time for a new one. I looked all around the Internet to find "the perfect vacuum" and, after discovering that she wanted a canister instead of an upright, I settled on this model. I think it does what it says it will do. We tested it on a 5' area of burber carpet and also on a rug that was on top of the carpet. We couldn't believe how much pet hair it picked up with just a couple of passes! I was apprehensive about getting a sweeper that didn't say something about it being for pet hair, but I'm very satisfied with this product. I like how the tube is see-through so you can tell where something is if it gets stuck. I like the handle on the canister and how light it is. It will be great for sweeping stairs (which I hate doing). I think the price for the quality is good...not too expensive and not too cheap. Middle-of-the-road. I did get it on sale, so it was a good price. It's very powerful. Our carpet looked cleaner than it has in, oh, probably the entire time we've lived in the house, which has been 7 or 8 years. No more pet hair!!!! My mom is so excited about how well it works--she'll be sweeping everything when I come home!

I looked up this vac on Consumer Reports before buying. It was one of the top rated vacs in its price range and Walmart has the best price. It does an amazing job on both carpets and bare floors. It took up so much dirt from the throw rug I think it was pulling up dirt from under the house. It is very easy to use and the hepa filter is washable in the kitchen sink. I absolutely love it.

I did my homework on this one, spending hours on line checking user comments and official ratings. I intended to replace my upright and ended up switching to a canister vac. I love this vac!! Very powerful suction, and lighter weight usability than an upright. It's so easy to switch out parts for various cleaning and adjust the wand length for comfort. It doesn't leave tracks in the carpet like all uprights do which is nice. It's possibly the best vac I have ever owned! Love it!

Our family own a House Cleaning business and before we decided which vacuum we would choose to work with we tried many other brands, from GE to the "so talked about" Dyson. None of them was as good as the Hoover. It is really powerfull and you would not believe the amount of dust and dirt it sucks from the carpets and floors. The very first one we bought almost 2 years ago is just about to die. But don't forget: It has been used to clean 4 to 5 homes every single day ever since it was bought. Tips and things to consider: - The S3755 model does not come with the power hand tool, which is really nice to clean upholsterd furniture and pet hair, and also it does not have a bare floor tool needed for the wood floors. In the other hand it does have a finger tip control which we found out to be very usefull. The retracting cord reel did not last too long. Within about 3 months of regular use it started to show signs of weakness and we ended up having to feed the cord manually. Again, consider this is not a commercial grade vacuum and IS NOT INTENDED for such use, so I would think this would probably not happen under normal conditions and use. - The S3765 is a newer model and comes all complete with the power hand tool and the bare foot floor device, but the on/off controls in the handle are not as nice as in the older model and are much more fragile and susceptible to breakage if you use it often. Also the retracting cord reel in the newer model seems to be stronger. - The power hand tool is very fragile and breaks easily. We had to replace ours in both models a couple of times. - You can order parts for this vacuum online, like device tools, belts and extra filters. We did order a couple of filters from the Hoover website but later we found out that a generic brand we found at another store (four times cheaper than the original one) works just as fine. We are very happy with the performance of this vacuum and we are planning to buy our third one soon. The only negative I see is the price. We bought our first S3755 at Walmart almost 2 years ago for $157,00 and the second one, a S3765 was bought at COSTCO about 16 months ago for $189,00. The current price of $215,00 is really not what I was expecting to pay but is definitelly worth it. I would strongly recommend anyone to buy this vaccum. It is a tremendous value and a great buy!!

Replaced my broken upright vacuum with this canister model. Very happy with it - it is quiet and does a good job on both hard wood and carpeted floors.

Terrific suction and very portable. Good news/bad news -- we had a lot more dirt around than I expected! I particularly like all the controls located on the handle grip. A bit short on attachments -- only a crevice tool and a small fixed head. Somewhat awkward to use on stairs unless you carry it along.

I had read several positive reviews on this vacuum and went to the store to take a look. I thought it came with 2 floor brushes, but I guess the additional bare floor brush I saw in the store did not go with this item. The suction was GREAT. I have a beagle who sheds tremendously. This vacuum sucked the hair right out of my area rugs. However, it did not fare well on bare floors and was very awkward to use. The floor brush is huge and sits on rollers off the floor. The attachments are also left to be desired. They are very small and the bristles are short and stiff. If you use a vacuum cleaner to dust, these attachments will do more damage, scratching your furniture, than anything else. I ended up putting it back into the box and returning it the same day it was delivered. Back to the drawing board on finding my next vacuum cleaner...

I loved this vacuum when we first got it, it's light weight, has good suctiion..but the parts are plastic and it needs service after 9 months of use :( Hoover used to make great vacuums.. would I buy this again YES..for the price it works good, I just wish that Hoover would make the parts more sterdy. Ps >> The local vacuum comapany said that Dyson are always in his shop and not to buy one......worse than Hoover and more expensive.

Don't Be Suprised if you have to order belts onlin

Well we purchased this Vacum from walmart 6 months ago, the belt gave out and we have been to three different Walmart's; Bed Bath and Beyond, Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy, Sears, JC Pennys and no one carries the belt for this Vaccum, So I would suggest that if you purchase this Vaccum you Order more Belts through Hoover and Don't call the 1-800 Number that is on the card at Walmart because the number has been disconected you will have to go online or look through you Manual to get the number. It would seem that if a department store would carry a product they would also carry the appliances for that product i.e. belts, filters and so forth people should not have to go online to purchase these poductes.

Have had nothing but problems with this vac since we bought it 18 months ago. Had to take it in for service on a belt problem within 3 months which was covered by the warranty but still it has problems with the spinner thing underneath. It getting hung up on my carpet. The suction is good though so if you have bare floors or VERY low carpet it will work okay. The cord on it is short too though so unless you live in a tiny apartment you will need to unplug and move outlets too often as well. I've had it for only 18 months and I'm shopping for something better.
