I'm going to start off by stating that I bought this with absolutely no intention of using the cellular phone service. In fact, I removed the sim card before I installed the battery for the first time. I was looking for a cheap, reliable, and portable android device with wi-fi and bluetooth capability, something that could handle a few games, and included a decent camera. In all of these areas, it excels. I spent $20 for mine, and at that price point, it's a fantastic machine, and it's almost trivial to replace if it breaks. I do recommend adding a 32gb SD card (the max it can handle).. so you have some room for music, videos, ebooks and games. I've use the Huawei Union for about a month now, and I really do like it. I haven't had any issues. It's great as an MP3 player, a great little platform to play a few games while waiting for the bus, and when I can get on wi-fi, I can check emails and send messages to friends via skype or google hangouts. It's also a pretty good little video recorder/camera, with the following caveats: The camera is fixed focus, there is no front-facing camera, and there is no flash. Video is limited to 720p, which is fine for basic stuff, and again it's important to remember this is a CHEAP phone. Photos can clock in at 2592x1944 (4:3) or 2560x1440 (16:9) and images come out pretty good. You're not going to do a lot of art photography or cinematic film recording, but if you wanted to do some vlogging or something, you could do worse. If you want to use this phone with a tripod/selfie-stick type clamp, you'll want to invest in a case. For some reason, the power button is placed in such a way that it's almost centered on the phone's side.. so a case (like the Evocel hybrid armor case) is a must to keep the clamp from accidentally shutting the screen off. Battery life is fantastic when 'off'. (I have my phone turn off wifi and bluetooth when the screen sleeps). When on and 'using' the device for gaming, reading ebooks, and so on, battery life is still pretty decent. I decided to invest in a decent portable usb battery pack, but I do tend to do 'power usage' stuff a lot. I can't speak to it's use 'as a phone' unfortunately, but in terms of the android device, and it's functionality as a small entertainment device.. it's a great little machine, and if this one ever does break, I'm sure I'd happily buy another.
Great Phone, Amazing Shipping, And All Around Great Customer Service :D Thank You :D
That smartphones were a pain to get used to.
does what I paid for and more!
Recently purchased this phone for my husband, so far it works fine, easy to set up and can access all the apps ..to be fair I probably should give some time before a writing a review, but he likes the the phone so far and satisfied with the purchase..Walmart.com made the purchase online easy and received the package a day before it was scheduled so no issues with shipping and handling to the local store...Reason for not recommending to a friend....I can tell someone what a good purchase I made but some folks are never happy or satisfied so I make it a practice to give my opinion... but not to recommend...My husband is satisfied with this phone. Thank you
was it the phone that I needed for my provider nice phone no
Nice size screen, battery life is short. battery charge does not last long. Beside the battery life the phone is pretty good
It looks like the excellent Virgin Mobile Custom program (low cost and great for kids) has been cancelled. I bought this phone to replace an existing one on the "Custom" program for my son and learned that the hard way that the program had been cancelled. Worse, Virgin Mobile didn't allow me to unlock the new phone, so I just kept it as a $20 Android toy for my daughter instead. I signed up my son with a similar low cost cell phone service called "Republic Wireless" instead of Virgin - it's a much better deal if you or your kids just use wifi most of the time.
Asked for an Assurance wireless phone, this phone was recommended, However, this phone is not used by Assurance Wireless. I returned this phone to Walmart.
